    Dear friends,

yesterday I've finally installed the new Omegadet's.
Launched (per routine) my 3Dmark and.....ouch!
    Out of memory error!
Checked the caracteristics of my card (a Hercules Geffo 3 Ti200 with 64 Mb Ram)...surprise: installed RAMDAC 16 Mb!!!
Hey, maybe something wrong with the card?
Have checked the startup screen, but there are signed 64 Mega!
Reflashed the original Bios; than an generic Bios, but nothing changes.
At the end a last try: have installed the 42.01 det's and now the thing is showing to me 32 Mega!

    So now my question:
How it is possible to "loose" Ram through the drivers?
Is there a software to check the functionality of my card.
Is it possible, that my card has effectively lost one or more Rambanks?

    Please help!!

OK UNINSTALL ALL NVIDA DRIVERS... AND GO HUNT DOWN ANY FILES LEFT BEHIND... INSTALL 42.01'S IF TAT DESN' HELP GOT TO THE WEBSITE OF THE CARD MAKER AND DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS MENT FOR THAT CARD AND NOT THE REFERENCE DRIVERS.. AND SEE IF IT HELPS.... ALSO WHAT DOES IT SAY ON BOOTUP DOES IT SAY 64,32 OR 16? THE CARD COULD BE DEFECTIVE, COULD BE A BAD POINT IN THE VIDEO CARDS RAM. IT COULD BE INCOMPATABLE WITH YOUR MOTHERBORD CHIPSET.

    Ok, here I'm back.
The Boot has shown to me all the 64 MB; so I was really sure about the fisical quantity; but no way in real applications: card was suffering.

Have tried with removing drivers of Nvidia and also the Intel stuff, changes only between 16 and 32 Mb....

    Last way: format c:.....

And surprise! After a standard installation with all standard and clean drivers: back to 64 Mega!!!

Conclusion, drivers must be the cause of all. I don't know the combination or which driver has caused it all; but now I will check every single move before and after installing them.

    Thanks for your help anyway!!
