    Here's an ode to one of my favorite types of genres: turn based strategy games. Where 1/2 the time I'm having fun playing the game, and the other 1/2 of the time I'm physically forcing myself not to put my fist through the monitor.

    'Course... my fist has won the battle a few times....

    Teaser of the mind;
    I move forward, he moves back.
    $4!7, I can't attack!

    An ode to the first game I ever ran a server for.

    My God, what a horror that was. All these twits joining my server... via dialup! :D

    Flying, he did go,
    with a rocket up his butt.
    It was so Unreal.

    Whenever I look back on some of the best Playstation games, this is one of the first that comes to mind.

    It's also the first game that ever caused me to smash my controller into itty bitty, teenie weenie, little pieces...

    Ballistic racing;
    mines, rockets, missiles, watch out!
    Oooo.. what a Wipeout.

    Thought up this simple.. like REALLY simple one reminiscing about old school games:

    Action, strategy,
    neoromance, role playing;
    Just who is this Koei?

    Odo to Tipstaff in 3 parts

    Far too many tries;
    Tipstaff has way too much time
    to "Post Quick Reply"
    :D

    Give him the keyboard!;
    Tipstaff has us all beaten
    in shear volume alone.
    :)

    What we all wish for
    Tipstaff thinks we don't deserve;
    Quality Haiku
    :rofl: :rofl:

    (The smilies don't add syllables. ;)

    Just in case it comes up: http://cspeech.ucd.ie/~fred/teaching/oldcourses/phonetics/syllables.html

    # of syllables is hard to tell sometimes.

    This is the best contest ever. I've got a ton of em coming (going to compete with Tipstaff for most entries hehehehe).

    I would hate to have to be on the judging panel for this contest! Tooo many great ones already submitted.

    :rofl::rofl:

    That's awesome, Tinkerhell.

    Thankfully (for you guys) I'm so busy that I'm an inch away from being brain fried, so I can't keep up with it at the moment. Maybe in a couple days I'll come up with couple more.

    ok, time for some Haiku-Fu for you grasshoppa!

    General

    This contest kicks ass;
    A collection is perhaps
    the best way to win.

    My right hand aches
    at once pain-stiff and languid;
    L33T. Nintendo thumb.

    The spring of my life;
    Dark rooms, flashes of neon
    Arcades were the womb.

    Pac Man

    Munch! Always eating
    Dots and ghosts feel his round wrath;
    I miss my quarters.

    Here they come Pac Man
    Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde;
    Power! Lonely eyes drift.

    Mario
    The king of all games;
    Side-scrolling to the Peach
    and eternal fame.

    Fallout

    Safety in the vault;
    Our water is running out
    the Dweller must help.

    Rad scorps are bad
    and kill our two headed cows;
    They glow in the dark.

    I wander the sand;
    I find the Jupiter Two
    but the crew is gone.

    Diablo 1&2

    KillKillLootLootLoot;
    Getting more stuff than killing
    A good thing indeed.

    Where are the cows at?
    A peg leg can't help the dead
    but doors can open.

    Soulstone in the head
    What kind of fool would do that;
    Must have a Sequel.

    Dungeon Runner
    A free game is nice;
    A good free game is something
    one should not pass up

    When programmers laugh
    they can make the world laugh too;
    code monkeys kick ass.

    More to come, but I think I'll just edit this post to add on & keep the collection tight. :)

    My mouth is agape,
    My eyes stare in disbelief,
    I had died again.

    From the days of Pong,
    To the death of Mario,
    Gamers still play strong.
