Read the review ______________ Let's face the facts; the PlayStation 2 will be virtually dead this November when the superior PS3 makes its worldwide debut, so one could easily assume that the rest of the PS2's future is rather bleak. Not all developers have thrown in the towel yet, though, as we can see with the release of an innovative game known only as Okami. Based on an old Japanese legend, gamers take control of a white wolf that can utilize divine powers in order to save the land from the terror incurred by a multi-headed dragon.
Not a bad review, don't agree with the opening sentence though. PS2 will be around for a while yet, the hardware base for it worldwide is huge... so it won't really be a bleak future for it on PS3's launch, especially considering the high price of the new machine and lack of units available. It isn't a worldwide launch either, Europe has to wait until March.
When I re-read that sentence it did sound a little harsh, but I was just trying to emphasize the fact that the next generation of consoles are moving in now so it's only natural that the current systems will be taking a backseat. The main point is that it's great to see such a fantastic game be released amidst all of the PS3 hype currently going on.
