Good news. I'm actually running through this one right now (just started Chapter 2 on Iorveth's path). Had it for ages, and made it to chapter 3 with Roche, but never got around to finishing it. So I restarted it a couple days ago in preparation of the third game.

It really is a great game. The story and characters are second to none. Very mature, but it can be funny. It's one of the best looking games available too, despite being a couple years old. I think I saw it on sale at GOG for $7 if anyone hasn't played it.

I still need to play these games. I wish there was a way to change the hair color of the character.

Hair color? I hope that's not the only reason you haven't played it :p

Check out the witcher nexus. I'm sure there is something on there.

Looks like awesome changes, improving much of what I felt dragged the game down when it was brand new.

One does not simply blonde the White Wolf. Heresy!

Oh but it is. I have both games but I can't play them due to that.
    Personal reasons.

"Experience points are given only for progressing through quests, not for killing enemies. This encourages role-playing without worrying about missing experience."

    - This one worries me though; in the first Witcher you have to cross the map many times to do all quests, and I don't mind fighting the same mobs over and again as long as it's levelling me up, but with this it's just a complete waste of time.

Edit: patch is out, and I've just finished Witcher 1 :) (on the other hand, bound to be some initial bugs..)

You're a strange bird. In a good way. I like a guy with principles.

I seem to recall that there was an explanation in game 1 that gave why the hair color is what it is. And, if so, changing the hair color would, in some form or fashion, alter the character mystique.

(I am not saying this to you) I don't care. I don't want my character with this grey/white hair.

That's fine by me. I'm not criticizing you. I simply meant to point out that there is a reason for the hair color choice. It all goes back to the books upon which the game is based. If it weren't for the developers trying to be true to the original stories, he could be bald for all I care.

As for Wild Hunt: I do hope it is better than the 2nd one...and not so many bugs right out of the gate. I played the original through many times. But, I "endured" to the end of the 2nd one. I even attempted at a 2nd run through and just didn't have the interest to continue. For one thing, the mini games kept losing focus with my 360 controller. Whether it ever got fixed or not, I don't have any idea now. But, the mini games, to me, were a very important part of the overall game enjoyment.

I'd avoid the new combat rebalance patch until it's updated; the forums are full of bug reports. The author said that he had already fixed several bugs and will release it this weekend.

Trusteft: I know I'm probably not the only one who's curious as to what your extreme issue is with white/grey hair, but if you don't want to share it that's of course fine.
