Hey guys, for some reason I am stuck at an overclock of 3.7GHz. I am stable on prime95 but as soon as I up anything in the slightest I get a BSOD either immediately or in about 5minutes, I was wondering what your suggestions are for me to get more out of this OC as you guys are much more experienced.

    Thanks in advance!

first clear your CMOS and then retry your overclock.
second is to flash your BIOS to the latest update (check for one on ASUS web-site),
default your BIOS back to original state before you flash.

try clearing CMOS first then re-clock.
not every chip is a great overclocker, your 955 is a C3 stepping so that's in your favor.
how far can you go just raising the multi with your chip and not adding voltage yet.?

I have flashed the newest BIOS, I don't remember how high it can go without adding voltage but I can check

Also, I noticed in the "Advanced" tab of my BIOS (where I disabled Cool N Quiet etc) there are two things named "Microcode Updation" and "Secure Virtual Machine Mode" they are both currently enabled...what are these and should I leave them enabled or disable them?

re-enable the CnQ as I did with my AMD unit.

also the Microcode Updation is a good thing, it's kind of a CPU 'real-time' monitor.
it takes any abnormalities in the CPU code and creates a work around until issue is resolved.
    all CPU's use Microcodes.

disable Secure Virtual Machine Mode as it is of no use to your set-up.
it's for running virtual machine configuration.
