And if you happen to surpass the allowed number of activations it simply tells you to call Microsoft. You ring the free phone number supplied and exchange a few numbers on your screen with a polite but bored sounding lady and ta-dah! You’re fully activated. :)

So in answer to your question, you can activate an indefinite number of times as often as you want so long as you have five minutes to spare on the phone.

I activated my comp once. then had to RMA my mobo because it was messed up and destroyed my XP install. Then decided to exchange my board for a better model. I reinstalled XP and a week after activating it, I got a strange email from Microsoft asking me if I was using an illeagal copy of XP. I ignored it because it was entirely too ghetto looking, but I called them instead and they said that they found that my copy of XP had been installed on two different computers. I explained the problem and they fixed it all...but er it freaked me out. I started searching for spyware like a mofo on my comp. Put up a firewall and got behind a nice router etc etc.

You call your home country. I guess any country support number can help you, but isn't it easiest to call the local one?
