    Hi everyone,

    I just started using kx driver - it's great. So hope you don't mind a silly question:

    with all the effects offered with the driver package - is it possible to set the karaoke effect? You know this party gag to filter out and delete the middle of the stereo in order to supress the voice of a song - and later on have someone sing live to the backround music.

    thanks for your help

    Hey jonas, you can try to load a EQ in the dsp and filter the middle frequenz. but you have to register the plugins at first. take always the latest lib from your driver. hope it helps, grüsse, gerald

    i dunno how to code effects, but i am guessing this is a fairly simple thing to pull off? it's all about inverting and combining, isn't it? i'm sure someone can help :)

    You can try this:

    Code:
    	name "karaoke";
    	copyright "Copyright (c) 2003.";
    	created "06/08/2003";
    	engine "kX";
    	guid "d504d784-2e51-4c37-8ec8-3a78fccd47da";

        input   inL,inR
        output  outL,outR
        temp    tmp

        macsn   tmp,inL,inR,1
        macs    outL,0,tmp,0.5
        macs    outR,0,tmp,0.5

    end
    - It works with some stereo recordings.
    - MP3 does not work, of course.
    - You can connect some kind of filter previously to this plugin.

    Hi eyagos,

    I'm impressed. Thank you for the code. Well, my programming scills never reached above writing a batch file or recording a macro in Word Perfec. So I'm puzzled what to do with the code. But never mind. In the mean time I found a VST plug in that gives me the karaoke effect in Cubase. That's finde for me now. Should I ever have the time to get into programming I promise I'll try your code.

    Thanks again and take care

    Good pneumatos.

    If you have an VTS plugin for this... use it. Probably it is a bit more sophisticated than the above. But if you want to prove this, you only have to copy&paste in a plain txt file (using notepad). Then you give it .da extension ('karaoke.da' i.e.) and register it doubleclicking in.

    As you know, ussing KX DSP you kill two birds with te same stone: You get the audio effect, and you are free to use any program. ._.

    Saludos desde España.

    PD: I have uploaded the file to my ftp server karaoke.rar

    Niice plugin. works fine, and doesn't load your CPU. I wish there was an official database so you could find these tools. It seems it was done a long time ago and never made it to the installation file.

    It should be there.

    Just one suggestion to the plugin. Put a 'mix' slider, just like analogx does; http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/vremover.htm

    Thanks!
