Is there any plan to restore the Like and Alerts features? Or, does anyone know?

So I sent him another email, because at first there was a bit of confusion between him and I as to what the problems we're having are exactly. Hopefully he'll get right on it if he hasn't been on it already.

Another issue [should I start a new thread?] is that clicking on the Post or Post Reply button doesn't show any activity taking place. But, if you click it again it throws up an error that you have to wait in order to use the option.

FWIW, things are just quite awful laggy around here these days.

Yes it doesn't show any activity, but it actually posts, and as of now there is no way to delete your drafts because the system thinks you haven't posted in the first place. I got an email from Steve today (the admin working on things) and he says there's a few broken things behind the scenes and he's still working to fix them.

Any word on the Alerts system?

Edit: BTW, the posting issue isn't consistent. This very post went straight through (on Opera Portable). If I go home, and use Chrome.. probably won't work.

No word yet, last email I got was about 2 days ago, he said all systems check out and seem to be functioning perfectly but at the same time they seem to look like they're not working as they should, apparently he is still trying to figure out what the root cause is.

Just a heads up, for people trying to get in touch with other people on the forums, you can still make posts on other people's profile pages as comments and for some reason the alert system still works with this and they will get the message, if you don't have to exactly talk about something "private" as it were, you could always use the comment system on other people's profile pages until the pm system is fixed. I'll check in with Steve now just to find out if he's figured anything out yet.

So I have tested pms and they too seem to be working now. It seems all is well in the land of HH now. Also the posting seems to be responsive.

I am still coming across a small issue that is not fixed..

    Create the heading OK.
    Post the opening paragraph OK.
Insert the Underscore ( ___________) OK.
Source: LINK (insert the URL) on the link OK.
    Bold the Source/Link: OK
    Post the thread: OK.

Then they post is not registered even after refreshing it is not been submitted..

Randomly I am having to go this route.

    Create or paste the heading..
Insert the opening paragraph, Post the thread.
Edit the thread to insert the Underscore ( ___________) then save.
Edit the thread to add the Source: Link & save again.
Edit the thread to add the URL to the Link and save again.
EDIT the Thread to Bold the Source: Link and save again.

I still get the same issue, it appears to only happen when there is a YouTube link inserted.

The post I have created leaves the Heading in place, but everything within the reply box vanishes..

when I create a thread with text and the link only is fine..

As soon as I insert a youtube link with the text, url etc etc. Submit all I get is this screenshot for example.

Since I don't really understand the issue you're having I'll email you Steve's email address and you can ask him to fix it.
