    Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you know how to change the start menu icons for search, run, and the cp. I had done it before, but i cant find a way that works now. I've gotten it so that when i view the icon cache, it shows the icons i want changed, but the actual start menu is the same old icons (even after restart). I know theres a easier way than editing the shell.dll, but i can't remember. I've tried iphile, and icon workshop. Do i need to flush my icon cache or something??

    Thanks

    Ben

Try booting into safe mode and your icons should change, then boot back to normal windows. This is how I change my icons when I alter shell32.dll because windows keeps a cache of the icons and going into safe mode resets it. This is the way I do it anyway.
