Intel announced their Q3 earnings a short while ago and they have exceeded all forecasts which is a good reflection on how the processor business is still thriving.

This is the biggest quarterly revenue increase in almost three decades with Q3 sales up 17 percent for a total of $9.4 billion revenues and $1.9 billion profit. That said, the year on year revenues are still down but Intel are clearly recovering as these results have surprised analysts across the globe.

With the imminent release of Windows 7, normally a great time for CPU sales we expect their end of year results to be exceptionally good. Atom processor sales were also up 15 percent to $415 million which is also an excellent result for the CPU behemoth.
