Tonight was the night that Jupiter and Saturn reached full conjunction. For my location, that occurred earlier in the day/night. For my location, Eastern USA, Saturn had already moved slightly past Jupiter. But, as the sun set, and Jupiter came into view, I started snapping shots...adjusting the camera settings...and just kept at it. Among the many, and with a wee bit of editing, this is the result:
I was really bummed the previous night due to very heavy cloud cover. I was hoping to get a shot of the closest "approach" of Saturn toward Jupiter prior to it passing Jupiter. As it stands, Saturn had already passed Jupiter during the early morning and into our evening here. So, this was the only option left to us in our area for getting anything at all.
