Hey all, my name is Moshe Vana.
I just bought the program cause soon (in a few minutes) i am going to buy an ati gfx card, gigabyte hd 4870 512mb.

anyway curently i have nvidia card, geforce 8600GT.
I want to know how should i uninstall the drivers and replace the card, what are the steps, should i remove the card then uninstall an only then to insert the ati card, or to insert the ati card then uninstall the nvidia drivers and after that to install ati drivers?

Thanks in advance for all the helpers!

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

    You should follow these steps.

    1. Uninstall the nVidia drivers from the add/remove programs menu in the control panel.

    2. Reboot PC and pres F8 to get the boot menu. Select Safe mode.

    3. Run DriverCleaner.NET and select nVidia from the cleaning selection.

    4. After cleaning is done shutdown the PC

    5. Take the power cord out from the PSU.

    6. Open the case and remove the gfx card, remember to remove all the cables that are connected to it before removing it.

    7. Insert the new card and plug all the cables back to it.

    8. Boot to windows and install the drivers.
