Few years ago the vast majority of keyboards were membrane keyboards and only if you paid some good money you would get a mechanical keyboard.
Now, outside of some very cheap (price and quality) keyboards, it feels like you have to try to find a non mechanical keyboard.
    Funny.

I was considering getting a new keyboard. Thankfully nothing physically wrong with the one I am using for the last year and a half. It's a logickeyboard JME-7597U.

I like how it looks, all silver with colored keycaps (it's a video editing keyboard), and probably the most silent keyboard you can get other than those laser keyboards.

My main problems with it are how the keys are colored and with shortcuts on them for an editing program I no longer use and it just feels weird, even annoying at times.
Then it is the matter of how after using it as my daily keyboard for over a year and a half, I still haven't got used to it 100% and I still make mistakes with it that I shouldn't. I guess there is no chemistry between us.
A shame as I said I generally like how it looks (no black plastic on top, or black keys) and love how it sounds. No. LOVE how it sounds. So quiet!

ANYWAY, I am (no rush) looking to find a replacement and it's really difficult.
I am looking for a full keyboard, wired, silent (really silent so no mechanical switches and yes that includes black switches or red or brown. They are all much louder than good membrane keyboards) and also not black (or very dark other color) keys or body. At least not the parts that show.
    With lighting if possible.
N-key rollover of at least 5 keys.
    Any specific suggestions?

Nothing from Razer, I refuse to give them a single euro again.
Nothing from Steelseries, I refuse to give them a single euro again.
Nothing from EVGA. I know they don't make keyboards, but I am mentioning just in case.

Oh and not anything of triple digits (euros, dollars or pounds) as they are waste of money.

Do you have the one that looks like this:

    s-l1600.jpg

    Or this:

If it's the latter, these are very similar in design and function as the Lenovo Preferred Pro / Pro II branded ones (THE only membrane keyboards I use.. just love them). Same ones Lenovo gives with the computers. They are not backlit though. For that you'd need to go with their Legion K gaming keyboards... maybe the Legion K200 (non mechanical, 12 key roll over, 3 zone RGB backlight) if you can still find one, or the newer K300 (membrane, 24 key roll over, 5 zone RGB) (gorgeous keyboard). The K300 runs around $40 US? I think?

    Everything after that is mechanical.

Edit: Lenovo Legion K300 in all it's glory:

    Thanks.
Weird I can't find photos or product page for the one I have. For some reason they removed it.
Anyway, it's very similar to the first one actually. Only not black anything on it. Well, apart from the font on the keys.

What you post looks good, but they are all black. I have no problem finding black keyboards. I want a keyboard which isn't black. Body or keys. I edited my original post to make it more clear.

If I was going for black I would go for a Cougar I have found quite attractive, the Cougar Aurora, or Cougar Aurora S, or Cougar , or Vantar, or Deathfire EX (which also has my favorite Return key of all time.

    Thanks for your input though.

    Second reply.
I can't find my phone to take a photo, so here is an older photo from my instagram account. It doesn't show the whole keyboard, but you get an idea.

PS. I would love an ice cold Pepsi right now.

Re-read the original post. My bad about looking for something not black. I'll have to do some searching on keyboards I've bought in the past to see if I can find something. Only ones I can think of are lesser known Chinese/Japanese brands like Langtu, or Redragon.

Only ones I can come up with so far a series I bought for a few dentist clients. They needed something low profile, quiet, and that they could sterilize without it dying. That led me to a brand called B. Friend (you might see them listed as BFRIENDit). You can usually find them on Walmart and Amazon among other places. The ones I bought were model 1430. The keyboards are similar in design to laptop keys, the ones that are chiclet designed and have the cross or "scissor" type mechanics. They also, funny enough, come with their own silicone membrane. However, they are not backlit. At least not the white key'd ones. All their backlit keyboards have black keys (like the KB700Pro).

ChonChow is another brand you'll find all over Walmart and Amazon. They have what they call "mechanical feel" keyboards, but realistically it's only because the keys are the same shape and size as what you find on mechanical keyboards. Google the name, and you'll easily find them.

And as always there's Redragon (which I mentioned before). I'm thinking of the S101 in white. Only problem is that it comes as a mouse/keyboard combo. Traditional membrane keys, backlit, full size keys. Once you see it you'll see how traditional the design is.

That looks suspiciously like the keyboards one of my clients has. I'm pretty sure they aren't the same, because, at least the one I always got to use, is horrendous. Keys jamming against one another and whatnot. I'll have to look at the model name the next time I'm there.

Lenovo has a lot of crappy keyboards. The Essential series is a chicklet design based on their consumer laptops, they have taken the keyboard from the ThinkPad and made a PC keyboard out it (like.. why?), I hate the Lenovo Y Gaming keyboard, GoldTouch is s**t, and I'm really not a fan of the Yoga keyboards (which I think come with AIO machines).

Unfortunately none of them are available here.
Well the Redragon S101 is, but not only it's full black, but it has a horrendous bulky "palm rest" which is small enough to not be a palm rest, just to be in the way.
    For me at least.
    Thanks anyway.
It's a hard mission to find the best one.

    OK, I gave up.
What I am looking for just doesn't exist.
Even the handful of not black keyboards suck in some way I can't stand.
    I am now between

    1. Cougar Vantar (60 euros inc. shipping)

    2. Cougar Aurora S (36-51 euros inc. shipping)

    3. Cougar Deathfire EX (55-64 euros inc. shipping)

    4. Cougar Aurora (41-43 euros inc. shipping)

Vantar and Aurora S (and non S) are my top choices, but the design of the Return key of the Deathfire could win me over. I miss that type of Return key.

    I just ordered it.

    None of the above.
    Official product photo.
Let's hope I receive it this week because I ordered it from a store which caused me problems last time I ordered from them.

It's not perfect, but it is the closest to what I am looking for and actually being available.
One reviewer mentioned how the lighting and the black font of the keys make it hard to actually read what each key is. I remember about 15 years ago having a similar issue with a different keyboard obviously, but that keyboard did not have translucent keycaps. I don't mind if the font is not easily readable as long as the lighting/colors are strong enough to make it a beautiful piece to look at. It's not like I actually look at the keyboard to find the key I want to press. Plus, I am thinking it might be different if you use the keyboard properly instead of looking at it at 90 degree angle...

That's what people like about cougars. Ok, I'll escort myself back to the 20th century.

According to sms I received, the keyboard is in a nearby storage/depot of the company ready to be delivered. Let's hope I will have it this week.

Call me conservative or stupid lol, lol. I just do not like wireless keyboards or mice..... I know batteries last a long time and I could recharge them too but I just hate the idea of losing one or the other.
Anybody can suggest good wired one?

None of the keyboards I mentioned in this thread are wireless ones.

wireless is indeed garbage... and i laugh daily as i sell wired solutions to people that previously insisted on wireless, many of which i turned away since i refused to sell them something that frankly has an enormous failure rate.
