My only concern with this is how the battery could power such a screen for anywhere near enough time to finish an entire movie? The screen of the ipod with video isn't that much bigger, but the extrain drain from watching video on it brings the battery life down from 15 hours to 2-3 hours. I don't think the new ipod video will be that impressive for a while, unless they're encorporating some crazy fuell cell battery

    That can't be real.

I dont see evidence of photoshopping, but as dig stated, there's no way a device that thin could power a device that long for more than 6 hours, just playing audio. Video, it would be down to ~1 I'm guessing. (this is based on the estimation for the g5 ipod. It has a 14 hour battery life with audio, and 3.3 with video. Seeing as the screen is at least twice as big, with touch screen input...battery life would be horrible, at best.

If it's real, then apple has made some serious design oversights.

Well I did read some where and I think they are making it real... But anyone knows who has a ipod that the screen they have now scratches super fast just think about this one... We will need some big screen protectors.

Actually it's not only the screen light - there'a a lot more HDD activity when watching video, and also video decoding is consumming more power than audio. As long as the resolution of the videos is kept the same, the increase in power consumption will not be spectacular.

mmm on a similiar topic - defrag your mp3 player drive regularly if possible, keeps the disk usage to a minimum, saving battery life :)

Plug it in... Make sure it detects as a removable drive... Go in any defrag utility and defrag ;)

Edit: OMG my 4gb nano is really in need of a defrag :w00t:

fake. Touch screen's aren't anything you wanna put in an mp3 player, due to the construction and finicky nature.

Actually apple has been hinting for some time that the click wheel would be a digital overlay on a touch sensitive screen. This looks exactly like the picture that apple execs painted already.

Of course that was leaked information, so it might not be totally reliable...but touch screens can be done right.

Indeed it is possible for them to do it but it's not pratical. If you think that screen problem with the Nanos was bad, imagine that thing!
