anything that low escapes most radar...and isnt impossible with other aircraft. Now do this over 'real terrain' - instead of an air strip thats FLAT - then maybe it something to brag about....

Man, under real combat you would have to be very stupid to fly as low as that. I can imagine how stupid the pilot must feel when he hits a deer or something and crashes.
possibility? High ease? extremely easy - aka anyone could do in minutes #1, the guy takeing these photos #2, he's useing a tripod #3, he has muliple shots, all hed ever need for a chop that it take a science lab or experts to freaking tell / prove it's been choped #4, any 1/2 decent person who works with photo has photoshop My thoughts? plane behind has a clear shadow, plane close up? shadow looks more like a dark spot on the runway and 1/2 the plane has no shadow. Whats is he flying fasterthen light? not to mention there is no exast, there is blur, etc... as this jet moveing fast? or more likely setting still...
@ neon: if you look closely, you can actually see part of the nose's shadow over the white line. it's very faint, but it's there. as for the darker area of the shadow, the best way i can describe it would be because it's the bulk of the plain. there's more shadow there because there's more plane there than at the front of the plane (ie. shadow of wings and body vs. just nose of the plane).
why not strap some wheels on it and drive under the radar. I feel all tingy jist looking at that, could you imagine behind in a war zone and there nothing on radar but all of a suudden here comes johnny ACE. pretty impressive even if it is photoshopped not to many photo's give me that feeling tingly feeling
A common misconception in aviation... reality/physics states: THRUST = LIFT and not Angle of attack = Lift. Pilots are taght to increase speed to gain altitude -not 'just pull back' on the stick. Pulling on the stick does increase lift - but only up to a point reaching the A/C stall speed. So - all he has to do is increase speed. (Assuming that pic is real) - one can tell hes not moving at max speed (clear pic - even with fast cameras - theres no blurr at all) - hes probably actually flying rather low speed and riding the 'ground effect' much like hovercrafts. Its ONLY because these A/C have such powerful engines that they are capable of vertical lift (pointed up like a rocket) - remember, the engine provides thrust - if the engine isnt powerfull enough, and attempted to go vertical the A/C would enter a 'stall' condition. Of course thats 'simplified' - but the point is - one CAN gain lift/altitude - by simply increasing thrust and adusting the ailerons and elevators thus making sure the A/C is still 'level' and still gain altitude. There are plenty A/C capable of such maneuvers - but they're highly dangerous - (the deer, tree crashing comment) - even over an air strip - a slight turbulance *could* be disaterous... like that other pic suggests.. and why its not observed very often
Hmmmm.... but airliners.net is just pics subitted by others - so.. there may still be some question poeples minds. - its not 100% confirmed to me..thats for sure. (The 'correct information' link below the pic - which allows 'others' to call 'BS' if so inclined, supports the above statement) Tho I do beleive it is real pic. It is after all - just a wiki....
