Source: eWeek Download: Microsoft _____________ Microsoft has finally released Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, which provides updates, security and stability enhancements, and the latest features for the Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional x64 operating systems. This final release follows the second release candidate for Windows Server 2003 SP2, which was made available last November. It has seen twice as many downloads than the Windows Server 2003 SP1 Release Candidate did, Microsoft said in a statement.
Installed it with Windows update this morning, rebooted and all seems fine... I'll slip stream it into x64 install CD, as soon as I get a chance..
nice to hear it installed alright from th MS update, i ran the update the other day and it came up but i was leary of not slipstreaming it into an actual install disk. notice any drastic difference in anything? process' running, CPU usage, and the like?
It is for Server 2003 and XP x64. The file name is WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe.
Updated mine last night (XP x64). When I came down this morning, explorer wasn't working, but I didn't really screw around with it at all. I'll report a bit on it later this evening.
Sorry, apparently I can't read :duh: Never seen a server-and-workstation-in-one Service pack before....
what do you think though? sliptream and reinstall or just install off the MS update site? x64 is based more off of Sever 2003 than XP 32-bit.
