    Re:

well i dont know who gives a shit! not me.
and reason that i asked you becoz i hv done it on my test machine and results was same as you so i guess i'm okay then since all sp1 final files is copied(on top of beta version) and i just gonna wait and see you know without having to buy a new HDD and do all stuff that you mentioned.

okay you did yours.. no offense !!
i only try mine and then we both wait and see.

Sorry, but you may have noticed, Im very opinionated about monopolys

We live in a democracy, why should we cater to a Stalin type OS
Thats not demorcracy, its a dictatorship :D

I was trained on Motorola based products in '88

Segmented code in old school, Intel 8086,
    and beyond !!!!

We may ask ourselfs, what was the most stable OS, Microsoft ever created
    OLD SCHOOL ?
    or NEW ?

Re: Changing Your Corp Key To A Legal Legit Key

what are you talking about please quote the the part you find relevant, as the keychanger is not warez and wasn't posted, and was only mentioned by name! I posted no link!

Edit: HE posted detailed instructions on changing the black listed keys to a legal key, NO key is legal or legit, unless it is purchased from Microsoft. And it was TUPACALYPSE187's post I edited, Are you saying that was you? i.e. more than one account?

    Re: Windows Update workaround???

Got a bit off topic last night
And intelligent answers are all I expect here, always are,I was joking :D !!!
but still curious bout opinions on MS OS's

This is a post that caught my eye

Interesting, this is a work around for update within XP and not Corp update link ?
Haven't had any luck with it myself, except for auto updates using dynamic IP's
Search for updates stays at 0%, but MS still sends auto updates.
Corp update works, but almost seems to work to well:rolleyes:

Not using my Static IP at this point.

Cant help you out with .NET Server RC1, but very interested in how you make out

    Re: Windows Update workaround???

We are on case with it atm..and hopefully have news a bit later on! started migrating my server yeaterday to .net rc1..I'm having couple of teething problems like only 1 out of 4 web sites is up!.. not helped by me going out on bender yesterday afternoon :)

Ok got .net sorted..even managed to get an update server up, only to discover that the update client dosen't support xp sp1 and .net server lol yet, only supports xp & 2000 sp2 at the moment :( server side is nice an easy!

    180 time bomb?

[/QUOTE] Specifically I'm talking about the 180 day time bomb which may now be lurking on your system....

First edit the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\EULA.TXT and search for 180. If it ain't there, then ignore this post 'cos you're OK. If it is then your system will require re-installing.

Before we send a lot of people off re-installing based on the EULA - it doesn't seem to always work that way.

I've installed each sp including sp1. My eula says 180 days. Wininfo shows no expiration and I can set bios clock ahead 1 year and boot with no problems. I may be an axception, but there may also be others.

baaXPee[/i]Well first off you don't need to re-install. Simply insert your XP cd and boot from cd. Run repair previous install after the cd detects an existing install of XP. As far as you installing the final release over a beta, if it ain't broke than no need to fix it. I think those that re-installed and/or reformatted their hd did so because they wanted to. I personally reformatted one machine and just installed over a beta on the other. I have not experienced a problem on either machine so far. It is up to each of us to determine what is best for our machines and those who have questions can see our posts to make a decision.

    Re: Windows Update workaround???

I spent this weekend researching my ideas to find if it is a feasible workaround and as of right now, not only do I think it will work but that anyone could mirror windows update! I am in the middle of proving this point with someone from this forum and I will have a machine running next weekend to experiment with. Sorry if this is taking too long but all the hours at work and my family command my attention right now.
