I like to play CS and UT2k4. And i want to buy a good mouse and a pad for gaming. I think the mouse will be MX510 and the pad. I saw lot's of them but most of all iliked 4D from steelapad. what can you say about? What kind of gaming gear do you use?

The 4D from steelpad-for those who doesn't know!

I use a Wireless Intellimouse Explorer and don't need or use a mouse pad...I was skeptical at first but now I can't imagine having to use a mouse pad again..

Well for fps game, I think optical mouse is not really god. Even if you set it to lower sensitivity, it still 'moves' around while you shoot, etc. Using a ordinary mouse (with ball) is better.

no mouse pad well make you score more kills if you suck. it is the limiting factor only for extreme gamers. practice and learn

im well above average in any online fps (ie tribes, rvs, ut2k4), but if i go to my friends house, and use his computer (logitech cheap-o optical mouse, cloth mouse pad) my score drops by about 25% i would say...it's way harder to look around and "twitch" with those crap pads.

I don't think it is the mouse pad or mouse that affects your performance but rather your usage habits. I use a MX300 with a U.S. $2 mouse pad. When I go to my friends place and use his MX710 + $20 mouse pad I just can't hit anything. After a little fooling around the preferences I get better, but never close to what I achieve at home.

I personally use RatPatz + MX510, and it works really well for me, when i use to use the old Intellimouse, the reaction time and dpi were very slow for me and switching to the MX510 gave better respose/more headshot :D

The only people who buy steelpads are those who have tried Func Pad's.
