After Windows 10 was released, it turned out that a lot of software that requires very "deep" access to the OS no longer functioned. That mainly meant security software, but also SafeDisc and SecuROM DRM solutions.

Now, there is an update for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 that blocks SafeDisc. The article KB3086255 explains why the security update was needed (a security vulnerability was found in secdrv.sys driver) and also provides a workaround for those wishing to enable the driver in order to play some of the classic games requiring SafeDisc.
