GameTrailers has a Need For Speed SHIFT interview talking with Jesse Abney, producer on the next installment in the Need for Speed racing series. The conversation covers the nature of the game as a true simulation and how this is not part of the open-world trend in driving games. Jesse also offers an off-hand comment that a playable demo for the game will be released at some point this summer in describing how the demo will include a sample of the game's driver advancement. He also repeats the previously announced September North American and European release date. Also, there's a new Porsche gameplay movie on the YouTube, where there is also a Pagani Zonda gameplay trailer, and there's a batch of new screenshots on NFSUnlimited.net. Thanks Gamer's Hell and NFSUnlimited.net.

I haven't enjoyed a NFS game since Underground so I hope they step it up here.

It looks like a GT racer/sim... only tracks. Boring, bring back the open world, cops, tuning and fans will be happy.

I don't think only having tracks is a bad thing. If you look at NFSU2, I wasn't a big fan of the open world beacuse it was essentialy pointless. The tuning was pretty barebones as well because it mostly revolved around buying tuning packages.

I think they need to get away from all this sim crap and leave that to games like Gran Turismo. I think they should move back to a more arcade style.

I personally think they got it right with Most Wanted. I also am a big fan of the open city and police chases.

    Great news.
After reading and seeing pictures and videos i believe that this time they will come with a complete title, combining the old good NFS with the last two of the series.
My wheel and pedals are waiting to burn some nitro! :p

If you have a Xbox 360 or a PS3, get Midnight Club Los Angeles. The game is what you are looking for :) BUT, in a city.

    You got that right!

After all, looking back to all NFS series, Porsche, Underground, and Most Wanted were the best ever from them.
