all plugins have to be re-compiled for the new release, that includes these synths

WOW MAN this synth (in mono) + 6x tubesound (3x stereo chained) = PURE ANALOGUE ACIIIIIID MADNESSSSSS!!!

sounds really fat and the filter is sweepy as hell!!!

now... if ONLY there was a way to implement tb303-style accent... THAT would be all i ever need :D

yeah i've heard the song. its actually much better than mine. well mine isn't even a "song" - it's just a loop and then tweaking the knobs on my midi controller in realtime :D it's just that - fun ;)

haha no problem man use anything you want. i can even send you the presets and all the stuff :D
i'm 100% sure i won't continue it. i don't really like the breakbeat and if i change it i'd probably have to change some notes in the bassline too and then ... haha i've got so many loops like this that now i just delete them/don't save them anymore.

    @kokoon:
Nice sequence. I like the part where the drums kick in, and when the Synth gets distorted.
Very nice drum programming too. Like the beat and the sounds!

May I use your sequence to link to in the first post?
Perhaps also host it on my webspace? (no pop ups, banners etc.)

Hmm,..listening to these/such acid basselines I think a 'dedicated' BasSynth version
of ASynth might be usefull too.
I would leave the anti-aliasing stuff out, freeing up resources and it also would give a
    tad 'nastier' sound.

    Yep that is correct.

Also, as you already know, in 3538i 'raw midi data -> plugin' is implemented to accomodate the use of these DSP-Instruments without virtual midiports like midiyoke.
Unforntunatly however, this implementation seems currently to slow for reliable midi playback.
On busy midi trafic Cubase SX (and most other sequencers) 'chokes', resulting in tempo slow downs, out of sync etc.

Since Logic does not work properly with midiyoke (and frankly I'd rather would not be forced to use virtual ports like midiyoke at all), I figured out another solution.

    I could write the Synths as VSTi, but still running in microcode. That is;
Micro code is uploaded into DSP by the VSTi and is also entirly controled by the VSTi.
Plugin paramaters and midi data are coming straight from VSTi part.
No need for midiyoke and midi timing is near perfect.
Downside is that one always needs an ASIO host to load/play the ASynth VSTi.

yeah man no problem do with the mp3 whatever you like. i'd be happy if you host it for others to sample what ASynth is capable of :)

on the BasSynth idea - that would be extremely awesome. did you maybe think about accent feature? how could it be implemented in midi? maybe from velocity value?

    Thanks.
I tried to read up on TB303 Internals regarding the accent feature. (Haven't finished tho)
Could you summerize what that function technicly does in your opinion?

Yep, velocity seems ok, but any free CC number could be used too of course
depending on 'what feels, plays best'.

    /LeMury

    EDIT:
BTW, did you also used the drumsynth on that sequence?

yes the beat is your drumsynth. i really love that thing too. it simply perfect! don't ever change anything about it :D

the accent basically gives a bit of an attack to the VCF envelope and maybe amplifies the note just a tiny bit. if slightly distorted, the accented notes are heard as a "bark" - like an angry dog.

but it's a per-note setting so i personally wouldn't like having it controlled by a CC. it's just on/off so i'm thinking note velocity MSB (0-63 = off, 64-127 = on). ofcourse then there's also accent intensity setting which would be best controlled by a regular CC.

rebirth is a pretty good tb303 emulator and i suggest you take a look/listen at it.

I see. Yes velocity trigger would be best then.
As for the "..gives a bit of an attack to the VCF envelope...",
isn't it more like an extra offset to initial VCF cuttof + maybe extra Q?
I mean otherwise, if initial VCF Attack is already at set to max, the 'Accent' wouldn't do anything.

Anyway, I'll have a look at rebirth but rather had some tb303 circuitry schematics or technical
reference on what's going on exactly.
