Re: New Pax Driver and Suite Discus Thread

    Hello!
I have the X-fi Gamer card. I have just installed the V1.20 driver on newly installed windows. Right after that I installed winamp, and immediately noticed that something is wrong with the sound. The music tone (not the volume, but the pitch) becomes low, than few seconds later it is too high. This happens only with certain mp3, including the winamp demo sound (Llama Whippin' Intro). In other mp3s this pitch changes are barely noticable or not noticable at all.
Now I went back to the v1.10 and everything is ok.

Regards, and sorry of my English.

Rob, fix the link for Live-Audigy Se - there's PCI XFI instead.

New driver for Audigy SE seems to be the best for me by now - very good balance of sound.

AW: New Pax Driver and Suite Discus Thread

Hi Robert, first of all: Thanks for your fantastic drivers =)

But now I have a problem installing the new driver for my PCI X-Fi XtremeMusic. I use Windows XP 32bit SP3, but I can't install the new driver called "PAX PCI XFI XP-Vista V1.05". It says something like "No driver found." when I start the setup.exe and click on continue... I am very sure that I have uninstalled the old driver the correct way (because it worked for other drivers before).
I hope you can help me.. Otherwise i have to reinstall my WinXP :p

Re: New Pax Driver and Suite Discus Thread

This is caused by Stereo Xpand upmix mode in CMSS-3D Surround settings. When I set it to Stereo Surround or disable CMSS-3D everything is ok.
I have 2.0 speakers but in V1.2x speaker configuration there is always 5.1, and I cannot change that. In V1.10 it is 2/2.1.
