went and got our daughter a new car for her 18 Birthday. Its a loaded out MX 3. http://www.bleedinedge.com/crew/flexkill/MX3.jpg. So I decided to treat myself as well and got this! http://www.bleedinedge.com/crew/flexkill/RX8.jpg RX 8:rofl: Paid for in full, in cash....lol...the sales dudes where like ...whoa!!!! I think they thought I was drug dealer by the looks I was getting lol The MX 3 is a brand new 07 model. The RX 8 is a 05 with 15,000 on it and in great condition.
Man nice car... I'm hopeing to get a new car one of these days and that RX8 is on my mind (in black ) But I love the Nissan 350z and BMW Z4 too (all same price range) Enjoy that rear wheel drive rotary wankel 9000 rpm fun mate
Nice rides. I don't particularly agree with buying a new(ish) ride for a teenager but if it floats your boat by all means. I'm your daughter is telling everyone how awesome of a dad you are.
i'm so envious!!!!! lol. it's ok. whatever. just don't do what i did to mine....click "a year later" in my siggy to find out what i did if you want to find out. click "her first day" to see my purty 8. umm...you did get the 6spd. MT right? not the 4spd. AT? just mind you, if you haven't taken it to red-line yet, the red line reaches 9k RPM like you should have already noticed, but the govenor won't kick in until it hits ~9.5k RPM. Also, for maximum potential, you want to keep the engine around 7k RPM. And the maximum speed of the first 4 gears go like this: 1st gear: 45Mph 2nd gear: 75Mph 3rd gear: 95Mph 4th gear: 127Mph 5th gear: dunno 6th gear: supposedly 155Mph, but some people took it to a dyno and got it to 186Mph. one last thing about the 8 that i think you should know. the gas mileage says 17/24 on paper.....but in reality, it's more like 13/18. oh yea, speaking about the gas on this car. it prefers to run on premium octane....you know, the expensive gas . the maintenance costs on the 8 is rather low, imo. just remember, a blown apex seal would be the equivalent to having thrown a piston. The oil the car needs is 5w20, but you can get away with 5w30. it's recommended to use 5w30 if you live in a warmer environment as well. also, your daughter's car is a mazda 3, not an mx-3. two different cars entirely. the mx-3 has been discontinued for quite some time already.
Nice... my parent's gave me both a car and a truck between me getting my license and my 18th, which I've since sold for a grand total of $550, while they're driving a shiny new car and truck. To be honest, I don't think I'd trust any kids of mine with a new car of their own, she better appreciate that.
one of my friends is "loaning" me his car since he cant drive for awhile (medical reasons) and I wasnt sure about it because I'm strapped for cash, but hes paying for everything besides gas. Soooo its a damned good deal. I'm gunna take it I think. Its a 93' corolla so its not like super great but its not half bad either
