I just received volume 192 of Nintendo Power, and there are many new screenshots of the new GCN Zelda :D There's also an interview with Eiji Aonuma (producer).

Before I post it, I was wondering whether I'm allowed to post scans of the screenshots.

from what ive heard on it so far, its going to be a much darker zelda again. like, darker then link to the past. as for blood, i think i remember reading some where that there will be.

as for the screens, i dont think you can scan them and post them seeing as there copywriten

Why is it that, for so many games, people think things like the addition of blood are an improvement? I actually think blood would ruin the Zelda atmosphere. I've always considered the Zelda series to be more like "Shreck" than "Lord of the Rings" (or rather, a good mix of the two)...especially with its quirky NPCs.

I am really excited about the new game, but I think the whole appeal of Zelda is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I mean, there are a dozen "dark" fantasy games for adults out there, but only one Legend of Zelda. Adding blood would suck a lot of the fun out of it, for me.

zelda's always been a semi dark game, i just think windwaker really gave it that kiddy feel. there just ditching the kiddy atmospher and going back to the roots of the game.

no no...think of the townspeople in OoT...and that crazy running guy, and the mask salesmen. Also the Gorgons (spellings) are downright hilarious! Aside from the dungeons and the bosses, the Zelda enviornment has been a generally upbeat place. Anyway, the blood would be too much.

Darker zelda is really cool. I loved the grown up Link and the darker world of oot. This game looks like it's going to rock.

It didn't show up very well when I scanned it, so I've taken some nice macro shots. Here are the photos.

Moderators, feel free to take it down if you think it's not allowed.

That's pretty interesting, thanks for the info! The fourth shot down from the top in particular looks fantastic. I can hardly wait.

I'm considering getting a gamecube to play this game. Been wanting to play Wind Waker for a while now, plus I love the Zelda series :D

I still say aside from the original NES/Gameboy versions, Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game ever

Hehe, I liked the older ones so-so, but I loved The Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (though not as good as Ocarina). N64 pwned! :D
