"WHEN NVIDIA briefed me on the nForce3 250Gb, the company claimed the chipset would perform better with GeForce FX graphics. The insinuation was not that the GeForce FX was necessarily faster than its graphics competition, but that NVIDIA had specifically optimized nForce3 and GeForce FX ForceWare drivers to work better together than apart."

Looks like I will be buying a VIA chipset board for my next upgrade when it happens. :/

I saw this posted up at Warp2Search earlier. Sounds like a conspiracy. LOL

Ahh, the confidence instilling tactics of nVidia never cease to hit new levels of absurdity.

If this is true, it just means that any ATI fan that is 'in the know' won't buy an nForce3 board. Great sales tactics nVidia. :duh:

If you guys had actually read the article, you'd see that NV isn't sabotaging ATI, they're just tweaking their stuff. The 9800XT is actually faster on NF3 250Gb than on K8T800 in most tests, it just doesn't get the gains the GFFX does.

Geoff also makes a good point: ATI allows their new triple-head with the IGP 9100 chipset and ATI cards, but not non-ATI cards. Same diff, really.
