    ok i wanna gather a lil dictionary of like abreaviations relating to computers n such of words that may be useful to "noobies" i'll start it off :evil:

    INtel - Intergrated Technology
    AMD - Advanced Micro Devices
    PCI - port controller interface
    AGP - acellerated graphics port
    IP - Internet Protocol
    LAN - Local Area Network
    NIC - Network Interface Card
    WAN - Wide area network
    SCSI - Small computer system interface
    RAID - Redundant array of inexpensive disks
    SD - Syncrious (sp) data
    DDR - Double Data Rate
    IDE - integraded drive electronics
    ATA - Advanced Technology Attachment
    EIDE - Enhanced integraded drive electronics
    CAS - column access
    RAS - row access
    RAM - Random Acess Memory
    SIMM - signle inline memory module
    Dimm - dual inline memory module
    EDO - extended data out

    That is what it stands for, Twain drivers are used for image acquisition devises. ie scanners and digital cameras.

    I remember reading this for the first time in the docs that came with Borlands Turbo C 2.0... I might be wrong.

    AFAIK - as far as I know
    IQ - Image Quality (er yes, in some contexts:))
    PERL - Practical Extraction and Report Language (or maybe Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister)
    ISDN - Integrated Services Digital Network (or It Still doesn't work)
    HDSL - High-rate Digital Subscriber Link
    ADSL - Asymetric Digital Subscriber Link
