I went to shop amd today and this is what i'm greeted with: Can we get a big WTF up in here! More: Whats next? How about they advertise intel CPU's
Actually, why would they get fired? nothing beets selling your competitors products as well as your own... specially if your making money off either of them anyways
you'd hope so....silly isn't it? Well for one thier saying thier competitor makes superior graphics products. or how "awesome" they are then try to sell you an ATI card lol' true thier selling cpu's regardless. But instead they should be advertiseing, amd laptops w/AMd graphics and amd chipsets.. and win, win win.... vs win / lose
Neon, I find the marketing scheme, progressive. Considering that they themselves are not only producing thier own products, but they are also producing products that use competitors products. Nothing is wrong saying that in a few areas of the market, the competitors product may or may not be superior. It makes the company more honorable (or seem to be more honorable). For example, if i were to create my own lineup of products, and sell them, and realize that another competitor has a lineup of thier own, and a few out of the lineup are overall better then mine, i would have no quarms replacing the machine that i have that are not as good with what they've got, i don't like the idea of selling someone something that substatially inferior to a competitors, it's not right imo. Is it business minded for todays businesses? YES, definitely! Is it morally correct? IMO, no, but some people think that if there is a sucker that'll fall for it, good for me, bad for them, so what. (imo, i don't like that kind of attitude and i try to stray as far away from it as possible, sure i may not be able to make a sale due to that, but i'd rather have a customer that's happy with reguardless of what they ended up with and to make up thier own minds then to make a sale, piss them off later, and to lose not only them, but several potential customers due to it)
I find it a little disturbing, especially since I've just seen articles that slightly convince me that AMD (fmr. ATI) and nVidia are price fixing GPU's
