    Performance!!

Nvidia released new drivers, but the tweak hasn't been finished.
So we wait, and wait, and wait.

Instead of trying to get the quality ones working why don't you start on 44.61

yes it does, though only in performance mode

for the detail mode you'll have to wait untill omegadrive works around the problems he encountered

I installed the omaga drivers with no problem in XP and they ran fine, but I like my 43.45d asus drivers best it has a osd so I can ajust in game gamma etc.But the guys here that has the problems,I guess are use to double clicking on an EXE driver install to load the drivers + you haft to make sure you pick the right video card.

those are beta drivers. 'use at your own risk'. omega usually uses tried & tested certified drivers. he has said that there is some different things in the new driver set he needs to work out. dont you think it would be better for him to continue with the set he is on & familiar with instead of jumping into a new beta set that appears to be of limited use?
he also has only so much time to devote to this, expecting him to work on every set is not... reasonable. give him a break & let him do his thing.

LOL............ this thread is out of control

yes it is nice to stay up to date with drivers, but ffs guys its not like we're all sitting with hardware and no working drivers to run it !!
it will be nice to get omegas new driveres when they are ready but until then im more than happy with the previous release on the quality setting

i dont think i will loose much sleep thinking about the extra '44 points' in 3d mark that the new drivers may or may NOT give

untill then, stay cool and put all your efforts into whipping Omega and feeing him coffee ;)

Don't understand the hype...Omega rules, but the 44.03s are crap, Det AND Omega...run 3Dmark2k1 and watch the dragon disappear...and I hear of problems w/ GTA VC too...newer ain't always better...Omega 43.45 is preferable IMHO.

    Just my 2c.

    newer ain't always better

booyaah!!! i never have understood the 'got to have the newest, latest' especially with det drivers. i'd say about 40% of them are basically crap. i always wait for a driver(any) to be out a while before i try it. unless it has a specific fix for a problem i am having.

    Just what I'm saying...
personally I think the 30.82 is the last honest Det, since it was the last one to be released before nVidia got ass-kicked by the R300. After that every new driver release (4x.xx) was just another desperate attempt to catch up with the newly predominant competitor by ANY means available, esp. in regard of one very popular benchmark. All this applies to geforce 2/3/4 of course, FX owners have no choice, I guess...

FYI, I wasn't impressed with the 44.03 drivers, in fact, I think they are the worst drivers so far concerning compatibility and stability, BUT, I had many E-Mails asking for a release based on those...
If the previous Omega drivers are working fine, don't bother with this release, they are faster, but have many problems, your choice :)

    Omega Drivers for G4 Ti4200

I was wondering which would be the best driver solution for my card. I know Omega has done some great things with the ATI drivers, (my old rig would only not crash when using his drivers), however I was curious to know if Omega's 43.45's would be better than the nVidia stock 44.03's. Stats are below:

    Gigabyte GA-8IE533 mobo
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4 ghz
    768 mb PC2100 DDR-SDRAM
    Western Digital 80 gig HDD
    MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128 mb 4x AGP w/ Nvidia 44.03 official drivers
    Creative Soundblaster PCI 512
    Windows XP SP 1

Any suggestions are most feverishly thanked.

Take the Omega 43.45, works good on my Ti4200. Dump the 44.03, Omega or not, it's no use.

    @Omegadrive

Hi Omegadrive, if you read this : how do you measure a driver being faster ? Just curious...
