Yeah, I read Terry's first post and responded to it as soon as I got home. I realized after I did more reading that I was a little late to the game. But, with my X800 XL, it doesn't matter anyway. I won't even be able to show up. :)

I had this problem too.. CCC wouldn't launch for me if I downloaded and installed it seperately.

What I ended up doing was installing DHZP 0.63 and installing CCC / WDM drivers but not the actual Catalyst 6.3. I unchecked that option. Then I installed the hotfix and CCC worked ok. Haven't had time to play Oblivion yet to see the changes!

Guess it's time to buy a new GFX card then... and it hasn't been a year since I got my X850 :(

Easier to quote:

Alternate frame rendering (or AFR) — This one, ATI reminds us, is the mode used by its previous multi-chip solutions, like the Rage Fury MAX. Alternate frame rendering involves buffering a few frames ahead of what's being displayed onscreen, with the cards alternating drawing entire frames. AFR can be enabled on a CrossFire system via ATI's control panel. This mode distributes both fill rate and geometry loads evenly between the cards, allowing for better scaling. ATI says AFR should be an option for both OpenGL and Direct3D applications.

Well, I'm still completely fine with mine ...
If I had to buy a new gfx card I would probably buy a brand new PC with PCIe board and card.

However, this's got time enough ...

Good becouse it's quite diffrent then what we where talking about for one
in cased your missed this is a "fix" to allow HDR+AA in this title. Secondly the AFR
"fix" so the game isn't just in the lower perfoming but catch all supertileing mode....
these type releases happen few times per year as needed. Much diffrent then we
are talking about. In fact its the first hot fix I've seen this year. Vs the every
new title ordeal we were seeing with a certain company I've lost count tis year alone
and primarly not fixes. So IMO: you still wrong... :p I wouldl explain why in detail but...

We already have a thread discussing this no need to drag it into others. Wanna debate
please go to the existing thread. Since It's not nice to hi jack threads...espically those
by specail members.

You know how to solve that don't ya :D It's worth picking up if it sound like you'd
enjoy it. it a great game but takes alot of time.....

Thats the only catch 22 :D I think your right since they said 6.4 won't have those.

You're getting paid by the developers? *joking*

No seriously, I've heart that from many people that it is a good game and worth the money, the time and so on.
However, I'm pretty content with my favorite games yet and ... we'll see, since it's footage is driving me nuts, too.

well i was kinda wrong about this game played well on my rig but as i got out in the open it showed why i need 2 X1900XT´s in crossfire it is a tad heavy not unplayable in any way but i need to turn off some stuff but still a good game and not too "ugly" either even if i don´t have a X1K series card so i´m waiting for the DX10 cards ro come out and by me a a card that isn´t high en but still so it does it´s work.

coz GFX cards are expensive in Sweden.

PowerColor X1900XTX is in sek 5895:- in USD 764.3952 USD

that is expensive

if i´m not totally wrong that is what it turns out in USD
since 1USD is 7.71 SEK
so 5895SEK is then $700+ dollar?? can it be that much
i´m not sure but if any of you can this better ??

DAMN
Support for HDR+AA after all in Oblivion for ATI only... as " your competitor" does not support that right now

I hope more games support these
Maybe i will cancel my Nvidia buy after all

well, didn't work for me either. I suppose being a "hotfix" I could try installing the 6.3's like normal...then installing the hotfix...we'll see

Well, I got everything insalled, no slowdowns, in fact things seem a bit faster at better settings. Useing 2xaa, 16xaf HQ, adaptive aa performance, triple buffering.
Everything seems fine, except for one thing, my sound. I lost my sound in COD2 for myself, but around me I hear everything, just not my stuff like my gun and such. In HL2 i seem to have lost sound quality as well. I dunno if it's becuase of these drivers or not, is that even possible, that a video driver can mess up sound?
