Actually your 4200 cant get better scores in UT2003, Giants, Aquanox, Dungeon Siege, Commanche, Quake, Jedi Knight II, 3DMark 2001, Serious Sam, etc etc.... you get the point.

Why would you even compare the two they are not competing products? Do I sense a little bitterness on your end Drive?

ps. if 3dmark scores arent important to you, then you may want to remove your 3dmark2001 score link in your sig

Nah my score is actually very low because the machine I am using here at work is just a P3 677Mhz, so I am really CPU bound. At home I have a bit of a better setup.

anyways who wants to beat up on CATALYST MAKER? my score is a sad 3487 due to my CPU limitations

    GT1 - 45.3 fps
    GT2 - 27.2 fps
    GT3 - 24.5 fps
    GT4 - 25.7 fps

    CPU test 1 =11.7 CPU test 2 = 2.0

Well.. I just ran it and............ 4722 marks totally default everything.
    My Dfault Score
    Ill brb with a o/ced score.

    AXP2700+
    R9700 PRO
    ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
    Corsair TwinX pc3500

Terry btw GF FX is slightly faster with the new drivers they just released, in over all score. But the r9700 pro kills it in pixil shaders and the other test which arnt fillrate bound.

So the 3d scores are rather vid card dependant, rather than cpu dependant. That is good, since this is 3dmark. At least the proggie gives you a cpu score so you can still compare your cpu. 3dmark2001 was influenced a little too much by cpu scores in my opinion.

It does CPU tests, So i'd assume it adjusts it accordingly to that. So poor cpu results and average results elsewhere will see your mark increased?

Don't forget that all of it starts over. Remember 3dmark2001 was out when geforce 2 and 3 were out. They didn't score huge numbers then. We are like the GeForce 2 and 3 with our cards. The process starts all over dudes.

GUYS!!!! Don't expect 5 digit numbers!!!!!!! Don't even expect numbers above 6000! This is a killer on our cards. Think about it! This program was designed around cards that are yet to be released!

    Ok here goes:sigh:

When i first ran 3dmark03 I got a score of 4622, which seems to be a decent score when compared to most that I have seen so far.

But as I was watching the benchmark run, the scenes looked like they were running at a very low fps(aprox 4fps at best) but the fps counter at the bottom of the screen was showing a speed much higher than that.:(

Then I realised that 3dmark03 showed all the signs of having the opengl stutter problem, except that as everyone knows 3dmark03 is pure direct x.

So I turned down the 3d acceleration slide by one notch, which was used to get rid of the opengl stutter problem before the newer drivers were released.
(I don't have an opengl stutter anymore by the way).

This actually worked and when watching the benchmark it looks quite smooth, but the final score didn't really change.

I only mention this problem here so that it may help other people who think there fps is way lower than it should be, and becuase I know that members of the ati driver team read these message boards for feedback about driver performance.

I hope this solution helps somepeople.;)

    My system is:
    Athlon 2200XP
    Asus A7V333
    768MB DDR333
    Radeon 9700pro
    Windows XP
