Top score for my 4200se - 1861 points! I am happy now...
OH YA! Bow down to my glorious fekking 184 points! YES! I AM ÃœBER1337 NOW! I rather liked the graphics, but I thought the collisions looks pretty phony - planes are made of metal, and metal bends... though in that slide show I may have just missed it
1200 is a low score how? :hmm: :duh: :dead:
Catalyst 3.1 Release Notes
3Dmark2003 GT4 runs a little slower than expected on certain chipsets where AGP writes are disabled. A future CATALYSTâ„¢ will resolve this and provide a higher benchmark score
3DMark2003 has some minor corruption on the RADEONâ„¢ 9500 and RADEONâ„¢ 9700 series cards when running in Anti-Aliasing modes. This however does not impact scores
Nice ati says don't worry if the video is corrupted as long as is dosent affect you score! Not to mention 3dmark uses ati's pixel shader version 1.4 for all the pixel shaders in the scenes. Current DirectX games, such as Tiger Woods and Unreal Tournament 2003, all use ps1.1 and ps1.3 pixel shaders. Few, if any, are using ps1.4."
3dmark2003 needs a built for ATI logo!
I should spare some money to be able to buy a new graphics card...
Re: Some Proof
Those are quite strong allegations you are making. Am I reading that you are implying we somehow cheat on the benchmark? The 9700 just so happens to be a quite fast and powerful card thus its first place status in the benchmark.
I wrote the release note to let people know that we notice some pixelation in one of the tests, also I can tell you that the next CATALYST posting will fix that and will not impact scores. The whole scene is being rendered and there is no compromise.
As for few games using ps1.4 or their equivelants let me tell you that UT2003 and Neverwinter Nights are two games that are using it.
Why is everyone crying about their scores in comparison to the 9700. I am a Nvidia user but our GeForce 4 based cards can't touch the ATi 9700 line. One of my best friends has the Sapphire AIW 9700 and he scored 4433 on his first run through and 4420 with Cat 3.1 drivers. My Ti4200 scored 1796 but I know his card blows mine away
I got 8700+ with 3DMark2001 SE, and 1400+ with 3DMark2003.
Re: Re: Some Proof
Well it is a fact ati did it with 3dmark2003 (optomizing thier drivers, when 3dmark run their cards driver act diffently)... Now 3dmark is useng a version that only Ati cards seem to use. It Dosent take a rocket scientist to figure it out. How nicey put pixelation... it's still corruption ...
1.4 UT2003 ? really .... where did you read this? please a link....
most news sites...nvida basts amd artical state----
Unreal Tournament 2003, use ps1.1 and ps1.3 pixel shaders
I been following this on madonions forums comon show some proof! I really wanna see!!!
I wanna see some scores with the cat 3.0's !!!! 3.1's have been already optamized for better 3dmark2003 scores
I post more at futuremark then here, and it's a pretty big controversy. However, nVidia DID have the chance to put in 1.4 in the GF4's so they are at fault 2.
Re: Re: Re: Some Proof
So its a fact is it?
So when I post a driver in about a month that has no pixelation you will appologize right?
post a link? you probably dont understand who I am, I am ATI's software product manager. I am the guy that decides what happens in all of ATI's drivers.
Anyways I feel like I wont have much luck in this thread so I will move on and address other issues people may be having.
All the best
Burned. Simply put.
Neon I think you have been warned before about your attitude in previous threads, I would request a little courtesy when posting on our board, especially to ATI staff members who are here to help people. Some of your comments I feel are a little ludicrous
Check your PMs.
512mb ddr 333
radeon 9700 pro
cat 3.0 = 4682 3dmarks
cat 3.1 = 4617 3dmarks
exact same settings on both runs...
I can send you my saved result files if you wish.
Well I ran the slide show and here are the results
Leadtek A250 Ti4200 =1383 3Dmark2003
Leadtek A250 Ti4200 =10327 3Dmark2001se
Do you get less points because of game 4 not being supported by my card
System Specs in my sig
Well, you don't get any points at all for Game 4, while you would get a lot of points from Game 4 even if your card really really sucked hard at Game 4 but still had the support for dx9 - scores are additive. I think that Game 4 accounts for something like 20% of the final score...
Thanks for the info dude!
