Hi guys, It's been a while since my last post here. It seems that my mailbox has been hacked, and now the full kX source code has become available online on github. The hacker has also written a nice readme file, which covers kX build process etc. http://github.com/kxproject Pre-built 3552 is also there, but I only built it, never installed it. Code seems to be GPL2-covered. That's it. Happy New Year and Merry Old-Calendar Christmas Update 2019-01-09: As you have probably noticed, kxproject.com web site is shut down. Later, some Chinese guys seem to have bought the domain. So, an IMPORTANT notice is: kX Project is no longer associated with kxproject.com. Do not download anything from that site, unless you really know what you are doing. The one and only OFFICIAL web site for kX Project is github: https://github.com/kxproject Driver binaries can be found here: https://github.com/kxproject/kX-Audio-driver-binaries Driver source code is here: https://github.com/kxproject/kx-audio-driver Documentation from the old web site is here: https://github.com/kxproject/kX-Audio-driver-website This forum and the github link above are the only official resources for kX Audio driver. Eugene
Hell yeah! Your the man! edit: Oh no, after removing old drivers, rebooting, installing new drivers and rebooting, kx mixer won't start and windows device manager tells me it cannot load kx 10k2 driver with code 39 :tears: (W7 64-bit). edit2: Problem solved, I manually updated driver with INF found on kx install folder and now all works nice. Sliders too
Can you explain how you did this? Doesn't work for me edit: nevermind, got it working, however all the file associations (.kxl etc) point to C:\windows\system32\kxmixer.exe ... which does not exist. I manually edited them to point to the 32bit kxmixer (I'm running 64bit window 7) as profx and my own plugins only work in 32bit - and all works fine (after recompiling my plugin against 3552 libraries etc)
thx the hacker we have now an open source driver code for an old lady. i personally do not believe that someone other except you will reanimate this project. is it really over the hill? never say never. however it is still running good on actual systems. thx again for the great work eugene. it was/is inspiring for all of us. (is there anything new in 3552?) oh i forgot happy new year (this is hopefully the same for you guys in russia )
Good day. Aah, sliders are working! Outstanding! [x64 OS, x86 host] After installing 3552, there were no audio and no kx devices detected. To make everything work, following steps were necessary: 1. Manual registering of ASIO driver. (regsvr32 "\Program Files\kxasio.dll"). 2. Changing every reference of kxmixer in registry to point 32 bit version ( \Program Files (x86)\kx Project\kxmixer.exe) 3. Deleting references to any other ASIO driver in registry. There were several references like ASIO1, ASIO6 and so on. With that last step (3), ASIO crackling & popping went away and latency dropped to 2 ms.
ouhh thanks, Eugene! is it works on windows 8 / 8.1? maybe someone good in C++ will cotinue delevopment of this project?
Works good in Win7 32bit with Audigy2. P.S.: Buffers still don't stick after restart and have to put them at 10.00ms not to click in Master Mixer.
man yall ought show Eugene some support. he's obviously pissed and hurt by the theft and illicit misallocation and, from the sound of it the "read me" the fucker posted. At least thats what I got from his post. Instead like greedy dogs at the bowl you can't download that code quick enough. i an't usin it. jus sayin. Who knows one of you peckerheads might just be the perpetrator of this injustice against our esteemed and most generous benefactor.
AW: Opensource Hallo Eugene, thanks for the great work. You don't have the suitable Hardware to test the driver? I could offer a 5.1 Sound Blaster Live for supporting. Best Alex
Îòâåò: Opensource It seems like there was no hackers, and Eugene just reshil to do it. Shared kx project on github because he have no time to maintain it.
Thank you for the great present, Eugene! Really hope for someone to pick the project up, but so far you're the only mastermind here. Happy holidays to you too!
Haha. Great news. And good hack. Im gonna try this now. Hope the crackling noise in w8.1 x64 will be gone when using asio. Thanks Eugene. Sent from my Xperia S using Tapatalk
Max,M ....... :duh: Kx3552 very stable indeed Sorry, I don't think saying so makes it to actually be so. The "stable" that can't even properly install itself? phew...
under windows 7 64bit, kx3552 is the most stable and functional version I'm not just saying it, I'm experiencing it Yes, there are install issues, but that doesn't take anything away from the stability of the product - it just means you have to be technically proficient to install it
