So will your drivers allow more speaker/headphone configurations for the hd usb? I mainly need headphones+rca outputs at the same time. Creative says it's impossible.

Re: AW: PAX USB Drivers Test Thread.

The cracking noise is caused by badly shielded usb cables. The X-Fi HD is a real picky bitch when it somes to cables, only the most high quality, double-shielded cables prevent the annyoinng cracking sound, and even then, no longer than 2m. Even if you usb-calbe INSIDE the PC itself is badly shielded, it can already cause the cracking sound.

    hi Robert,
I just downloaded and tried the sets below for my usb xfi pro 5.1
http://dl.technewshw.com/driver/PAX/...%20USBV1.50.7z USB Pro 5.1 tweaks updated.

    Installation goes smootlhy.
But I still hear cracking and clicking sounds during playback. any idea?
I'm using asus 1215b netbook with amd chipset and running the latest driver and win 7 64 bit.
However, if I use the built in driver that come with the windows, there is NO CLICKING/CRACKING sound.

Any idea? please help me getting the crystal clear sound from my sound card.

    thanks in a advance...

OK, I FINALLY got the HD usb driver to work without the "no supported audio devices" error. It turns out that W7 64 was installing the standard driver when I would plug it in, even after running your installer. I went into the device manager and selected the unsigned driver (yours) and now I can get into the console and control panel.

The good news is that I can select either 2.1 or headphone sound configurations whether or not the headphones are plugged in.

The bad news is that the speakers still mute when I plug in headphones.

Is there a PAX tweak menu I'm missing?

Sound is fine. I have not attempted recording.
    Thanks for your help.

Greetings everyone, and specially Mr Robert McClelland

I have an old Asus F3JC laptop, in witch I've recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Mostly everything went ok, but only my USB Soundblaster SB0270 isn't working as it should.
If I'm hearing music only, either foobar or Youtube for instance, sound is ok but I can hear that very low digital noise coming from the processor, which in not very pelasant, but ok. The worse is that if open a window, ou Chrome or so, and specially if I scroll down a page, the sound clicks and pops as hell!
I've tested normal soundblaster drivers, the latest ones, and I'm currently with PAX V2.0 Drivers, but nothing seams to heal this.
I'm not using any sound processing or enhancements whatsoever. Needless to say, any of this ever happened with XP.
If You need anymore data, please ask. Thanks in advance for any solutions/suggestions.

    Best,
    Figas

    Yo Rob

I'm testing your drivers on the usb HD with my Neco Headphone amp and Sennheiser HD650s and apart from being a tiny bit bass dirty its absolutely crystal clear and still better then the creative drivers. A Bass and Treble control sliders would be nice in the advance settings if you could brew them up

    Thanks
    Will

Ok, small update. I am now shure that its got something to do with the Nvidia Geforce 7300 Go driver.
If I change it to the Windows 7 generic graphic driver, all sound issues are gone, but leaving me with a low graphic resolution. Is this any usefull?
I've downloaded something called "Powermizer switch", wich disables Powermizer (the supposed causer of this issue), but no luck.
    Any ideas Mr Robert?

    Best Regards,
    Figas

    Hi, Robert!

I am using X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB. Is it possible to add bass/treble section in the drivers/or increase the trebles/? I don`t like the EQ and the trebles coming out from the devise. Thank you!
