    I absolutely love the depth of field on the snail. Almost looks like it was taken with a tilt-shift lens.

    Those sunsets are absolutely beautiful, Great shots :)
    I LOVE the DoF on the Snail shots too :)

    The detail on that snail is superb

    why do my pictures never look anything like those

    I shot the snail using macro mode at 331mm eq. focal length, he was about 1 m away. This way you can get very small DOF even with a small sensor camera.
