I got my hands on the Planetside beta. I'm really at a downfall now because it looks and run like C-R-A-P on my dated rig. :tears: :tears: :tears: It truely a great concept. Tribes 2 times 1,000,000. I wish it looked/ran better on my rig. So does anyone else here have the Planetside beta?
Been playing it for afew days now and I gotta say it's sweet. The battles are massive and alot of fun. I'm totally hooked and this is probably the only game I'll pay a monthly fee for. It also looks and runs very well here, but I'm sure my 9700 is to thank Sorry to hear you can't play it WHat rez are you playing it at? Maybe we can help alittle
1024x768 I just used the "recommended" settings. I'll mess with it tonight, I was too busy watching hockey last night to mess with it.
ARE YOU PEOPLE CRAZY, PLANETSIDE BETA ROCKS, the gameplay is like counter-strike + socom + UT2003, and the graphics aren't half as bad as some of the other mmorpgs out there, it might even be work the money.
Both myself and Renegade have it - its pretty cool. You might see Renegade on, he plays for hours - 6hours yesterday.... Stu
I am playing beta also, I am on the SV side name is Dalik!!! I think the game is alright, kinda the samething over and over .. with no real point. But our side owns all!! But its good to pass the time between other games.
I got into the exclusive beta and right off the bat, had to download about 8 hours worth of files, totaling around 2.7gb. How's the game itself, you might ask? Much better now than it was a week ago. The developers seem to be making decent progress and are working around the clock trying to squish bugs and improve gameplay. The problem that I have with planetside is I don't see much of a future for it.
I must've been living under a rock, because I hadn't even heard of this game before this thread, but I'm definitely intrigued, it looks absolutely incredible...can't wait for May 19th
this game looks great, my friend has the beta and he says its awesome.. mix of tribes2, ut2003, tribes.. etc cant wait!
I think it looks pretty cool, but it doesn't seem like the kinda game you should be paying amonthly fee for....
What! Monthly fee.. damn I didn't know that I hate it when games make you do that.. first you have to buy the game, then you have to pay monthly to play it! Argh!
With my experience with fps. PS isnt like UT2003, its really slow, so you dont shoot a few bullets and kill a guy, and you cant take one 2 guys unless they suck. Its a slower game. and I have an above average computer and I feel its slow moving my guy around. So dont think its fasted paced. Its squad based, and you cant do much dmg by yourself unless your a pilot and I find a lot of problems with that. So expect it to feel like morrowind but in a shooter since. Its an ok game but there is no point to it, really no story, and your ping will be about 100+ I live 15min away from the servers and I am on a fast cable line and I get about 60-100 and I feel like its lagging really bad. Anyway late
I for one don't understand what all the hype is surrounding it. I've been betaing for a while now and it's just a laggy FPS with 15 minute gaps between combat and a really horribly jerky engine.
I just started the training. I can't seem to get into it. Maybe it's because I feel like I need a paper manual to make sense of the game. I'll probably give it another try.
First of all, this game is great. Very addictive. The other thing I wanted to say, why do I run this game better @ 1600x1200 than I do @1024x768? Does that make sense at all?
