lil selection of tests, i've not messed with speedtest that often, but the rr speedboost mentioned over in that thread kris started kicked in over this way last week. in my experiance a far closer representaion of what i actually see is reflected in the testmy.net resaults. before the speed boost, a maxed sustained download from a, "proper" if you will, server was about 840 kB/s, now there is about a 30-45 second of boost to 1500 kB/s or so, then back to 840 kB/s, or about 12.5 Mb/s at boost from 6.8 Mb/s
Here are my test results. Even though cox does have speed boost or whatever; I have always noticed that it is sustained throughout the whole download, no matter the file size.
This is supposedly on a 6Mbit/1Mbit line... But a while ago when I had a 12Mbit/1Mbit line, it was exactly the same..
my upload is about 1/3rd what it should be... but that due to upgrade currently occuring on the network... btw.. it ISN'T sasktel as what the site thinks.. that's yourlink on an average busy day...
i would be probably be better off with two tins and a piece of string when it comes to using P2P progams :sigh:
