Well, since i am an employee at a computer store chain. I have found out the CDN prices for the cards, so here goes:

    Radeon 9700 Pro: $669 CDN
    Radeon 9000 Pro 64mb: $229 CDN

Allright, i can't and will not reveal my source because I am not supposed to even mention this at all. All I can tell you is that you can order it from my store but there is no ETA for it yet.

Actually 669 CND, is $440 US, so it is only 40 more bucks than MSRP, and I bet it will drop down to around 590 or so at stores like Future Shop, etc. I paid $590 for my AIW Radeon 8500DV, but I think I'll wait a little while at least for the 9700.

    $440 is still a dog-awful lot!

Dude, you are talking to a fella who gave up spending more than $100 on ANY part of his pc! (I'm working on becoming the King of Ghetto Power Computing. :) )

dude 9700 are the high end proformance card for damn serious hardcore gamers, but for 9500 are the mainstream cards for the cheap gamers like us.

I'm betting it's gonna be a LONG time before the NV30 drops to $100...

Got a 9700 today. September 14th. Ottawa, Canada.
    A STEAL at $577.00 .

Not sure if I should post a link to the place (where I bought it) or not. I'll email the url of their stock to anyone asking though. Hee hee... should've heard the German guy behind me crying as I walked out the door with it too... "I vas goin to buy dat, boo hoo hoo, no they haf non oontil tomoorow, boo hoo hoo..."

If your German and offended, take solace in the fact it is a Norwegian offending you.

    Prices here in the UK

First published price I have seen for the ATI 9700 PRO is £290, not too sure about the exchange rates and currency conversions, but one thing I do know only too well is that ATI cards are always way expensive here.
