while trying to install the new drivers on win98 se, I keep getting the error that windows can't find a specific file, (Atr9dixx.ara) and so my installation is incomplete. I can run the card fine, but it also says that it is a radeon 7200, when infact it is a radeon 7500.

Have you tried a Manual Install from Safemode?

If you know where you extracted the files, you can simply go to Device Manager and highlight your card. Then select the Properties and then Drivers tab.
Now click on the Update Driver button and select to choose your own driver.
Point it to the location of your extracted files.

Do this after changing your video card to Standard PCI VGA and rebooting into Safemode.
