Start- run- type "cmd" w/o quotes In the command prompt type "ipconfig /flushdns" w/o quotes. Reboot- or maybe you don't even have to reboot. Also type in there "ipconfig /all" w/o quotes for more info... ipconfig /? for more commands. Code: USAGE: ipconfig [/? | /all | /renew [adapter] | /release [adapter] | /flushdns | /displaydns | /registerdns | /showclassid adapter | /setclassid adapter [classid] ] where adapter Connection name (wildcard characters * and ? allowed, see examples) Options: /? Greetings all: I've looked high and low to find a solution to my Omega driver issue and have been unable to find any info on my issue. Any version of ATI Omega I install causes my system to reboot and run chkdsk (if I try to bypass it it just reboots the system); the results of the chkdsk is no problems were found and then the machine boots normally. This does not occur when I have any other ATI driver (ms winxp, ATI [any version etc.]). As to whether there is any performance gain from ATI Omega drivers is moot as I don't feel that my pc should should always be restarting. My specs are as follows: home built p4 ht 3.2gHz, asus p4c800-e deluxe (latest mobo Intel 875p chipset drivers), brand new WD SATA 125mb 7200rpm, ATI 9800xt Pro, 1gb of Kingston ram. All of my drivers are up to date. Each time I have installed/reinstalled any drivers I have always followed uninstall instructions from the start menu to a T. Any ideas on what I might be missing? Maybe a bios setting? I've had this problem for 2 weeks now and finally decided to post this message. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
question I am running a 9800XT and was wondering what is the difference between the regular omega drivers and the soft mod ones? also what will happend if I install the regular ones? thanks
I just got a Sapphire x850XT and a fresh windows XP install. I installed the Omega 5.2s, but Radlinker doesn't seem to work. I get 0 for clock speeds and have no way of adjusting the AA and AF now. I tried reinstalling with the same result. Any ideas? Thanks EDIT: Nevermind..Found out it's a PCI-E issue I guess. Sad. :wtf:
The regular ones are the ones you should be installing, the soft mod drivers are to make lesser cards think that they are better, ie: 9800 thinks it is an XT, 9700 thinks it is a 9800, etc
Have you tried uninstalling all of the old ATI drivers and running driverheaven driver cleaner before installing the Omega's? that generally works for me whenever I install the omega's, although sometimes I will reinstall my OS and install the omega drivers then.
oh hell I have been installing the soft mod. I thought it said in the description if your card is listed. oops.
Keep losing overdrive tab Just wondering if anyone else is having this same prob as i am. Its happend with every version of the omegas or cats. Currently running the omgega 5.2's
No, he is skipping the 5.3's and releasing the 5.4's. I do not know when, but it should not be much longer.
maybe he is waiting for the 5.5's ? it has been a while since the 5.4's have been available, and usualy he releases some soon after the official cats are released.
Totally agree with ya! Don't see any use in still releasin' the 5.4's now, since the 5.5's are comin at the horizon in two weeks now! ChrisW hasn't updated his RadLinker (wich causes problems with the latest Radeons) yet! And Omega can put all his optimisations he's planning for the 5.4's into the 5.5's! C U L8R!!!
Have you thought (being me one of the best users of omega drivers) that simply omega can´t make those optimizations made in other catalyst in the latest one? I don´t want to harm the omega community but, since Ati released its latest Opengl driver that totally supports 2.0 version, Omega hasn´t had made a release, so it makes me think in something: Omega, try to improve Direct3d a lot ( like in NFS: Underground) and forget Opengl now, as I think that it´s your actual problem. P.S: I have just arrived to my home drunk, so I probably have said something stupid, if I have said something bad, forgive it. If I could say something, I¨d said: "Omega forever"
