    Re: Installation problems

I think it only happens if you don't install the 3dprof. No problems if select to install it.

This is my first implementation of the Omega drivers for my 9700 pro and so far so good. The only problem I had was the dual monitor function between the LCD Viewsonic VG700 and my CRT Viewsonic P95f+.

The original drivers I had were working fine but for some odd reason, when I try to convey to the dual monitors that the display schemes is 1 for the LCD and 2 for the CRT - 2 being the primary device, the mouse control will still operate from centre to pan right instead of centre to pan left - since my LCD is on the left side of #2 (CRT - primary). It's irritating when dragging anything over to the LCD! since I have to pan from centre to right in order to get in on the left LCD. I never had this problem with the previous drivers.

When I tried to switch PRIMARY to LCD, then to CRT then the mouse operates normally. Originally, the previous drivers would remember the mouse coordination when I switched over the devices functions.

All of a sudden the advance Display properties that have OVERLAY, SMARTGART etc disappeared from my Advanced features and had to uninstall and re-install the Omega drivers.

    I hope this makes sense:p

    F1 Challenge 99-02 Problem!

With OMEGA DRIVERS 2.5.04 the 3dsetup.exe of this game says that my swap file is below 150mb, so the game can't be run.
I switched back to Omega Drivers v2.4.96c and everything is just fine.
To check this problem only 3dsetup.exe and dsetup.dll are needed, not the complete game, if you send me a request to mastroalex4@hotmail.com I would be pleased to send you the two zipped files (300k).
Here there are my system specs:

    3D Games Keep Crashing

Omega, always appreciated your omega drivers in the past, and have used them on countless configurations. I admire your work, just a little issue here with the latest attempt....

Just configured my new PC here, using Radeon 8500DV 64MB, with Omega 3.10s. Had this problem before - everytime I would start a 3D game, it would result in a blank screen. The PC wouldn't lock up, but the monitor would lose the signal, and the light on the front of the monitor would turn yellow instead of green. So I reformat/reinstall and now when I start a 3D game, it just kicks me back to the desktop. For example if I start Need For Speed Underground, it plays the intro movies fine, but it kicks me back to the desktop as soon as the 3D part of the menu starts. Different problem after post reinstall, but still a problem nonetheless. Any advice?? Thx in advance.

I decided to try the latest Omega drivers, and i'm not dissapointed at all !!!!

Both IQ and performance has been incresed over the ATI 3.10 Cats.

Thank you Omega, another great work well done indeed !!!!

In previous Omega releases the installer asked which refresh frequency to use with custom resolutions. As far as I can tell, the release based on Catalyst 3.10 does not and always uses 75 Hz for custom resolutions instead. How would I go about changing this to 85 Hz?

    Edit: Win98 SE

You may have a bad d/l of the Omega's. It asks me. I am WinXP. It could be a Win9X issue.

As Omega has mentioned he has dropped support of 98SE ...
No further questions unless he chooses to respond ;)

Sorry. I thought that this release would still be 'supported' for Win9x since a 9x version is still available, and particularly because it's still the most current release of the Omega Radeon drivers for any Windows version.

He is still supporting it as he always does .. He is a cool dude ..
But 98SE must be something that should find its place in time ;)

From what Omega said last time, there will be no more drivers for win98/me. I think it is time for people to update their OS. Omega could honestly use this time on his Nvidia drivers or what not. (that is just my opinion by the way)

As for Nvidia .. Man I think Omega is busy enough LOL

Somehow I managed to completely miss Zerodamage's post on my last visit. Thanks, I'm downloading the drivers again now and will see if that works.

This really is off-topic, but Zerodamage and Mac Daddy, I agree with you about the age of Win98. However, I haven't upgraded to a decent Windows system and probably won't do so in the near future either because I mostly use Windows only for my gradually decreasing gaming needs and for the most part go with Linux for other purposes. One thing to remember is that there are still a lot of people using Win Me which isn't that old if you look at its age, but on the other hand, nobody should ever have touched Me, so... ;-)

I understand Omegadrive's decision, and in fact I'm not even asking about future drivers, I'm asking about the current ones - and if he or someone else can help, great, thanks a lot, but if not, I'm not going to whine, as it isn't anybody's personal responsibility to provide technical support for something that I've never paid anything for in the first place.

    Ops!
My bad, a little oopsie on my side, forgot to add the extra refresh rates to the Win9x package, it will install 75Hz no matter what refresh rate you choose in the installer.

I'll release an update along with the 4.1 set for XP, sorry for that...

Well it really is't any big deal. Just change it after the drivers are installed.

Hmm, yes, it does indeed ask but doesn't care about my answer. I remembered wrong but that didn't really solve the issue. Thanks a lot, Omega, for looking into it. And it's just a small mistake, one of those that we all do all the time, and the release in general works great.

Zerodamage, I'd change it if I knew how - just altering the settings in hkey_local_machine/System/[blahblah]/modes doesn't change it because even though I can get 85 Hz to show up as an option for the refresh rate that way, in reality it still does just 75 Hz anyway. If I try using something like HZ Tool for the job, the result is pretty much the same as I think all it does is alter those registry values.

i have a HP Pavillion ze5400 laptop with the following display specifications:
    Radeon IGP 345M
    ATI RS200/RS200M Accelerated Graphics Port
    64 MB Display Memory

and forget about the newer games, my computer lags even during FIFA 2002. when i kick a ball, its like viewing it on super slow motion. even the mouse on the game is super slow. i installed the latest Omega Driver and i had also installed the previous version, but it hasn't helped at all... somebody please HELP!! i am stuck in college and i have nothing else to do, so i need to rely on my games...
