Bless these miners. My 'investment' paid off.

Bought an Aorus rx580 for NZ$445 and sold it for NZ$600
Made a quick buck without much effort at all.

well i havne't been able to play a game of overwatch for basically over a month since my wait time for a match started increasing to well beyond the 30 minutes mark...

Now i've been able to hit 3 hours and 30 minutes without ever getting a match and blizzard seems completely baffled as to why figuring it's my internet connection which after performing NUMEROUS tests and submitting to all their suggestions (many of which include basically running pure DMZ on the machine to make sure there isn't any kind of NAT or firewall or anything at all that might be toying with my connection. After completing everything suggested, they look over the logs i submitted and i've submitted A TON of files, that they see utterly nothing wrong at all.

Personally i think their match making system has a serious bug/flaw, though i'm kind of surprised that in all the world and the millions of players they have, i seem to be the only one affected ... my luck is phenomenal in so many ways. All i basically do now is try to kill my team mates while waiting in skirmish endlessly.

a youtube?... of what... filming my decent into death.... i don't think the radiation would allow a stream to be played... plus i wouldn't be entirely surprised if a bunch of morbid assholes made it a viral stream with advertisers.

After the last 2+ days of dealing with basically a dozen or more Blizzard Game Masters and apparently 3 Technical Specialists (which i must say, when you're doing a live chat with them and they enter the chat, prepare to have your speakers blown if you've got any volume on them... sounds like a king entering the palace halls for a gathered crowd).

So to keep it short... the TL;DR version:

The match making system is working as intended, players with an latency greater than 100ms will see diminished chances of finding a match, the the higher the latency, the slimmer the chances of finding a match to the point of, at least for me thus far, going over 9 hours without a match in 3 days time, and running an average of 3+ hours between potential matches previously (and it appears to be getting worse).

I suggested they added that requirement to their game requirements page for minimum and recommended. "An internet connection guaranteed to maintain a latency BELOW 100ms at all times". I think they took my suggestion as a joke... I'm being deadly serious since as a player with greater than 100ms ping and ZERO ways of reducing it... i've essentially been LOCKED out of being able to play the game at all in the modes i actually enjoy.

What i do find of odd... is they suggested getting a VPN... so i suggested they give me a VPN suggestion... then they returned with "We can't suggest a VPN because it's a potential security risk of an unknown magnitude" to paraphrase in fewer words. Basically "Give a vpn a try but if you do, and your personal data and information and everything is stolen... it's not on us!".

    watching City Of Industry.
it occurs to me all of a sudden that there's probably gonna be a whole generation of Brit kids who only associate Harvey Keitel with shitty awful insurance ads, and won't even realise he's one of the great actors of his generation :(

The area outside of Yosemite where I used to live is burning... They have actually evacuated the town. I hope the people that bought my place kept up with the fire abatement I started or that cabin will be toast... Burnt toast.

while shit sucks when it's burning out of control... it's been mentioned for decades that controlled burns were a good preventative measure that needed to taken... with all the fires that "should" have ended up occurring naturally to take care of all the deadwood and underbrush that's been building for years, they knew it'd eventually lead to unstoppable fires.

There is an impending amount of doom regarding one of our local national parks that hasn't seen a fire for ages. The total amount of flammable material is massive. They figure if it ever lit up and wasn't put out within the first day, the entire park would burn no matter how many tankers flew over within reason.

Some relatives have actually done some controlled fire prevention though they've been hassled to no end for doing it. Lighting up a rough 2.5km barrier between their house across thier own land inside the forested area. Initially fines were going to be levied but since it's on their property and they controlled it, they couldn't do anything but verbally give them shit and send a nasty letter.

This took care of a lot of trees, many died obviously, but those that lived grew greener... and a lot of new growth occured. Then just a few years ago a fire broke out and it wasn't stopping, it hit the 2.5km barrier and outside of having fairly heavy smoke, no damage was done. Some of the neighbours (if you call another 10+ miles away a neighbour) had followed the same path and managed to save their surrounding forest and their homes from damage as well. Meanwhile the rest of the country burnt and the small village was evacuated and ended up burning too.

Sometimes the best fire prevention is by starting a fire well before it would be entirely out of control.... fire guards have a purpose.
