Got woken up by the frieking neighborhood football tournament, realized I didn't have electricity, found out online that it's expected to return at 4PM, decided to get out of the apartment ASAP, remembered that today was the #&€@# marathon and that the whole city is blocked!

In the end, the day turned out great! :)

We found out that we could get to a lake/park in the city in a way that actually wasn't too roundabout, so we went there, took a walk around the lake (8km / 5 miles), sat in a beach bar for a Mai Tai around half way through. While we were finishing the walk, we figured that, as we were getting hungry, lunch would be ready too late if we decided to go home and start cooking (that would be assuming that the power was back on) so, as the traffic was more or less back to normal, we found a nice new place and had some good pasta.

I had oven baked lumaconi with something that resembles a bolognese sauce, but with added 'nduja and cheese, nice and spicy, and we shared a lemon cake with almonds for dessert, yummy! They also managed to get a few tables outside and set some plants so that they separate the restaurant from the cars (which weren't super numerous to begin with), while providing a nice view of some of the old houses and the 'cathedral' in the background, so it was really enjoyable.

We then contacted my wife's cousin, who came from (North) Macedonia to run the marathon with his wife and a couple of friends and, after a quick trip home to shower and change, we rejoined them in a nice restaurant in the old part of town. the two of us actually abstained from food since we were still full, but we had a really good time with them.
