Boring Release with over 75% being ccc related /me sleeps
Slower and not as smooth as the 5.x's. Such a pitty no-one saw this post.... barely anyone reads site news.
Okay, since I wrote that Ive been getting BSODs, and the only thing which has changed is the drivers. They're duds, move on along, these arnt the drivers you're looking for.
These drivers seem right on par with the previous ones, that I might add, I have had no problems with. I am still hoping for a release that will boost performance a bit or not have as low of an overclock cap.
I have to give these an incomplete. They give the dreaded inf error no supported hardware for my built by ATI x800pro :duh: Shame I wanted to check out the new ccc too.
6.2's also gave me bsod's and vpu recoverys. Back to 6.1 for now but the ccc is slow. I might wind up going back to the 5.11's or wait for the DHzer0point 6.3's.
Ahh well there's always next month
I had to pass on this set due to some posts i read about people getting monitor signal loss (yet the games/OS still runs-and why is this still happening to people :sigh: ..I'd like to hear Terrys take on this as many people seem to blame ATI drivers for this) and choppy framerates in world of warcraft..A couple other small items too but I'll pass on these ones.
I've been using these now since they first came out. So far, these are very stable drivers. I can't recall having any lockups, restarts, BSODs, or any other issues.
I've also been doing my normal things: Playing game, using Image Editors, playing games, WEB Browsing, playing some more games..... Well, you get the picture.
As with others who have posted about it: Is there anything that can be done about the dynamic shadows issues in certain games? If not, specifically what is the issue causing these blocky shadows?
I give these an 8 because they aren't perfect but are very stable for me.
For those who missed it in the release thread....
(scrool to the charts)
Over all thing seem to be good a lot of CCC fixes listed, got a lot of you
upset. When it’s a good thing weather you choose to use it or not. Remember
guys not all fixes or issues are listed in the release notes. They can be missed or
aren't discovered until after release etc... So I wouldn't get all upset over that....
remember CCC team and the driver team though they work together they work
on their own as well. As in driver development or CCC development doesn’t
cost the other anything. So it not like they only changed CCC there where
driver changes obviously….weather their all noted or not.
Over all perfomance seem to have been improved. Only thing is that Aquamark
seems to suffer a small loss. I've yet to test on the larger scale but thats a nice
Hmmm let me guess you’re from rage3d? Where there is a 22 page 2 years
rerunning thread. (Mostly discussion few reports/ same people) on the topic
and yet on so many forums else where this goes "unheard of". AS in if I or
they hadn't saw a thread on rage3d they wouldn't know such a complaint existed.
So many thing that could be as for signal loss could very well be a lock up of sorts.
Were the sound continues and the system isn’t system hard lock just the game. Could
Be so many things be it hardware / software related. I’d have too see it to believe it
and be able to trouble shoot it. Many people blameing diffrent things and finding diffrent
Though I’d almost invite anyone to show Up with a system like that for a total and
proper reinstall, rebuild, update and basic diagnostics. Not to mention trying a
different monitor. Though I’d rather they are local for obvious reasons…. I might
be willing to do this....
Though this discussion should take place in another thread IMO
i'm getting the occasional flicker... loss of signal on either one of my DVI connected monitors on my x1900xtx. It's quite strange
and emediately after updateing the firmware on my Sata2 Maxtor drives, durring boot, both monitors signal is scewed and crushed and flashing off to the left side of the screen with nasty flashing colors....
