I have a P6T Deluxe board with an AD2000B onboard sound card. Been trying to install this but I can't seem to be getting it to work. Driver and X-Fi package install fine but it seems no effects work. CMSS3D, Crystializer, Base Redirection, Headphone Bass boost, EQ and even EAX effects do not do anything.

I took the Alexa's Soundmax driver from the first post in this thread as the driver. Installs fine, everything works as it should.

Next, I tried the 1.9 X-FI package, again installed fine

Finally, I used the Activator2 and ran the run.bat. Checked the ProgramData\Creative\SoftwareLock path to make sure the KGA files copied over.

    But still nothing...

if you think about it, there isn't much point to modding the x-fi mb 2 software, because if you have THX support on your system, you should've got the software with it. As I understand it's tied to the hardward on some level isn't? you can activate it with a license file but if you haven't got the hardware support it's useless.

So wouldn't it be best to just use the original x-fi mb 1.1 software and just update the modules within?

I recently got a new laptop and everything works except THX & EAX5. IF you get a go pro with thx you get eax5.

I think the modded drivers allow our systems to use features the hardware chipsets support but due to licensing reasons or w/e the original driver and software don't allow access to. My motherboard for example has an 888 realtek chipset and all the features the modded drivers add seem to work fine. I don't know if this is done on a hardware or software level but either way it sounds a lot better than without.

It's the modded drivers that enable stuff like srs, dolby, dts etc.

all the x-fi software does is enable the openal component & enable us to use some of the x-fi features.

my new laptop has alc888 and all the features are enabled, except eax5 & thx because thx has to be supported on the board, I don't know why eax5 isn't supported though, maybe that's a hardware feature too?

well my motherboard actually has the 888 chip and thats the thing, I am unable to use those features w/out the modded drivers. true I don't need the actual x-fi software though.

ok, since the modded set with THX isn't useful unless you have actual hardware support, i've modded an original MB package from the creative ftp, that has no THX files of any sort.

    XFMB_PCFULL_ASR_2_00

    contains;

alchemy, cs launcher, audio console, updater, wmc x86 plugin, sb properties x86/x64, sysinfo & vol panel.

unpack and check the Readme file in the Activation Folder for any instructions.

    issues:

double sound blaster tab in control panel > sound
    doesn't cause any problems though.

Use it or don't use, just thought it might be useful for someone.

whoever has tried out Realtek HD v2.67 [MOD Gamespirit][Win7 x64] might want to know it contains some older files than those in 2.67 and doesn't even contain the right realtek driver.

edit, the exe version is correct but the 7z version has different files.

yea different modders, the gamespirit one has the right 2.67 .sys file 6526, but the other one i think was 6449 and some other files were of slightly lower versions.

guess they didn't check what they were doing.

Honestly if your computer runs XP then I guarantee windows 7 will run on it. I've seen windows 7 run on computers that barely run XP.

Can you explain, why did you put the trojan Win32.Induc into the Activator? Its not "false positive", as Viirustotal shows. So instead of suggesting to switch off antivirus, may be you need to remove the virus from the activator? Just because driver works, or many people already installed it, doesn't mean the virus wasn't installed to their PCs as extra bonus.
