    What!?

Who on earth was on the panel?

    • It wouldn't make sense to a computing novice (what? my computer reads? you mean I can scroll down faster?)
    • It's badly punctuated
    • It is in no way catchy, memorable or attractive

So the 15 winners were all from Toms Hardware?

The competition was for the gaming pc, for the best judged entry. A further prize of 15 drives was awarded to the site that had the most entries, which was Tom's. Now they get to dish out the 15 drives amongst their community.

    That's the winning entry?

Meh, congrats to the (lazy) winner :p

Now that the contest is over, my entry was something like:

"It's like a letter and an email with the HDD being the postman and the SSD being your email."

With character limited, basically, as you probably understood anyway, the SSD gets the job done faster lol

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think about it?

Well you definitely outperformed the winner :p

I can't even remember what I put. Something hardcore I'm sure.

Stay classy people. We are HH, not some third rate site.

True, although you have to admit the jury (whoever that was) has some weird taste :p

I actually have a mother who uses the computer, but only as a novice (that is type documents, surf the net and print, and even that can create problems lol), and since I hardly find anybody to talk about computers, I got the hang of explaining things to my mother, so not only was it a guideline, but it was exactly what I did lol

Taste is subjective up to a point. Then it is objective, depending on what who that reaches the decision prefers.

No matter what, they liked it, end of story IMO.

You lost me there for a sec :D

Well, in the end, their terms always state that the decision is final, so there is nothing left to do, all we're giving, IMO, are, well, our opinions lol

So what's your opinion on the winner's explanation? :p

I have no opinion on the winning entry. It is what it is.

Fair point BlueMak. But I'm not saying that I should have won, just that I'm surprised by the standard of the winning post (on fairly objective grounds).

I am not trying to tell you or anyone else here how to think or say (Apart from you Judas :p ) but that we should be more classy about this especially since the nature of the competition brought other sites in the game. To an outside of this community, we might not look so good when we mock the winning choice or something...Even if we don't like the result, he/she and Tom's Hardware won, good for them. Hopefully next time we will win. :)

Neither am I saying I should have won, I was also just saying that in my opinion, the winner didn't put a lot of creativity into his entry.

I'm not saying my entry was better as well, it's why I asked what you guys thought about mine.

    Anyway, it is what is.

    @Takaharu not bad, I like it :)

Had to figure Tom's would rake up, but I pull for the underdog. The slogan could have been a lot worse, both because they're marketing SSDs as a revitalization of sluggish computers and the two other languages probably involved.
