hello! seems like there is no cure for this, or am i searched not well? my sound card is recognized as SB0102 10k [e800], but when i press "test" i get "failed to create sound" (actually its in russian, so maybe the english message is slightly different). there is no sound, but levels on waveout 6/7 are moving, when i play something. need some good advice. kx drivers version is 3549, vista x86, 4gb. edit: when i set output to "Master Mixer" i get distorted sound, if play something.
The kX speaker test does not work in Vista, this is a known issue (AFAIK, the kX speaker test uses Directsound 3D, which was removed in Vista). As for the rest, try kX version 3550 (prior versions do not support more than 2 GB of RAM).

AW: sb live! vista problem I have a very similar problem, but i have the sb0090 (Soundblaster Audigy Platinum). I can only listen to my pc sound if i set the output to anything else but "Master Mixer", that is really annoying ("clicks", distorted sound). The surround sound does also not work, but if i switch rear and front output channels, all speakers work fine (i couldn't test the middle speaker). I tried AC3 sound with a DVB Software (instead of winamp) - same problem. I have installed the 3550 drivers. My system config: Win Vista x86, ECS Mainboard, AMD Phenom 9550 quad core CPU, 4 GB RAM, Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Platinum (SB0090) I hope somebody is able to help me. Greetz edit: I just read in the new driver release topic: "* you may need to increase kX buffer size in Windows7/Vista to avoid clicks" I did this (i just chose the double size under "preferences --> puffer-preferences" at every point, didnt know which one was the right one) and the distortion has gone away. Now i "only" have the problem with the surround sound not working.
