The Ring - New release (American). Just the way that video is animated - the one they watch that ruins their lives. And that little girl Tamara, the whole film is just damn creepy!! I went to see it with a girl I know, I think I was more scared than her!! :uhoh:

yeah the video is creepy, the japanese version is good too (asian version whatever they call it), it has a better "vibe" than the USA one, but the asian version's video footage isnt very scary, in fact I thought it was an advert for eastenders (UK sitcom/soap) first time I watched it.

    *puts on film connoisseur hat*

Dude, the Asian original was so much more creepy/ scary. Go get "the eye" and "Dark Water" before they get the hollywood dumbing down... unless your too scared  :p

EDIT: Damn you and your lightning responses Zardon.

yeah overall I did prefer the asian version, I just thought the footage of the actual video tape was very boring, the USA one was much creepier.

as for "the eye" thats a classic, I doubt the USA remake will ever come close to that. if anyone liked the ring, they HAVE to see "the eye", incredible.

I found "Event Horizon" to be a very disturbing and scary film. Growing up, the Original "Hell Raiser" scared the hell out of me. Disturbed my sleep.

If you want to read a book that will disturb you more than any movie, read Stephen King's "IT". Book willl scare your dreams into fear. The only book I've ever read that disturbed my sleep.

Event Horizon was very disturbing...i watched it for the first time during the day and thought it was crap. Then one night i watched it again and bloody hell was it scary/disturbing. I just wish they would release the directors cut with the other 45mins that the studio made them remove.

THE RING all the way!!! (US version)

BTW, I saw the original Ringu and didn't liked it a bit, the plot develops too early and it is NOT scary, in fact, I laughed in many stupid scenes and bad acting.
On the other hand, Ringu 2 is VERY good, WAY better than the first one (Ringu), I only hope that the US remake is better, but I doubt it since they have a NEW director for this one. :(

the original company that did "the ring" made 3 films I think? stu could tell you more about the source company etc, he got me into the films in the first place.

Anyway the story is regarding a young woman who is blind, she has eye surgery, when she wakes up from the surgery she finds her life is changing and she can see "ghosts" and starts down a path which really will chill you to the bone. I dont want to say too much more because it will ruin it, but i think its quite original and very unnerving. some very nice visual ideas too.

There is a USA version due this year and im sure it will be a massive hit.
