The Cowon X9.
My sony Blu-Ray player in my lounge decided to go to the Gadget Grave over the weekend...
Despite being able to upgrade the firmware in a possible chance this could be a fix it still refuses to play any DVD or B/R disk... I take it it's the actual drive or lens that is screwed.
so for £80 from amazon I have this on order: Panasonic DMP-BDT120 Black Smart Network Blu-ray Disc Player
Google should censor this photo.
Would you believe the first thing I did after receiving this player is drop it?
Good thing it has no moving parts. Looks really cool.
nice wee player
how's it sound?
(I know how you feel with being protective of a new gadget, my iPad case hasn't arrived yet and I'm scared to even use the thing )
Thanks. Yeah, it is a tad bit heavy though. So it sort of came apart but I just clicked it back together again. I wouldn't believe I'd be saying this but this thing sounds better than my last player (the Cowon J3) just with the stock earphones it came with! I'll be buying more expensive ones for it though. (preferably Sennheisers)
if you fancy trying something cheap, but apparently brilliant, these things have been creating a bit of a stir on headfi - link
I don't use buds personally, but I do love a bargain
Yup, I'm getting in-ear ear phones, not buds, I hate the way they make my ears feel (buds).
Thanks for the suggestion.
This arrived today... And great style and very slim...
All of Amazons reviews say's this is a great Player for the price, Packed full of features such as the remote has it's own Netflix button. And one of the reasons I bought this model it stated it Were WiFi compatible...
Blu-Rays look great (Just a 5 mins Test) but I have one snag that would of made me look at another Panasonic Model....
Amazon did not make it clear that the DMP-BDT120 does not include the Wifi Dongle... :sigh:
Were as after looking the DMP-BDT220 includes the Dongle.... So I have to look around for the cheapest possible Dongle on the net.
So, did you find that dongle anywhere Jason?
Yes I have found it, from Amazon... Cheapest I could find. £48 a fair bit high imo.
Good that you found it, expensive yes. I never used to use my PS3 to watch blu rays as the only one I had was Lord of the Rings and I never ever watched it because I don't like watching movies more than once. There are very few movies I can watch more than once, for example my favourite movie of all time, The Matrix.
Reason I opted to buy this dive were for the Smart Capability's it has. Youtube, BBC Iplayer etc etc...
After earlier today I have registered via the player so I can find more apps etc, And now have access to the Market...
And through the Market it has the option to to buy Gadgets such as the Wifi Dongle, Skype camera etc...
The dongle is direct from Panasonic is an astonishing price within £120 - £150. Can't remember exactly.
The other reason is to stream films from Netflix...
:wtf: you could go buy a new PS3 for that, it would stream everything you mentioned for you and play bluray & games
Wonder how much that 150 quid dongle actually costs to manufacture btw.. :bleh:
Panasonic has used netgear for many of their dongles and quite often could you buy the exact same dongle, just with a netgear name and model number, for a lower price. Fyi.
not had new trainers for ages, grabbed these the other day
(cat tried to photobomb me, but i cut him out. ha! )
Nice. Lol, cheeky little bugger.
Been a bit since I bought something, so...
Maxed out my boards memory with 2 x 8GB Patriot Intel Extreme Masters PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 1.5v kits ($35 each). Would have bought the 8GB (1x8GB) kits, but it seems my motherboard doesn't like 8GB sticks. Oh well.
Also picked up another Asus Geforce GTX 660 Ti Direct CU II OC 2GB (TI-DC2O-2GD5) ($285 flat) card for SLI. Well.. future SLI. Current card has been giving me troubles for the last 3 months where the system, any system in fact, doesn't detect the card. Eventually it does kick in though, however now that I have the 2nd card I can keep gaming on my PC, and I'll be RMA'ing the 1rst tomorrow.
mmmm SLi 660 Ti's :taste:
jealous. I really need to do something about upgrading my 470
