I won a contest some time ago and I received my prize today. It's a nice NZXT Avatar gaming mice. It looks really nice and it works well. The last picture is the NZXT Avatar mice beside my Logitech mice I used before.

I always hated the scroll wheel of that Logitech mice. It has a tendency to roll when you click it. It is a feat of precision to be able to click without rolling the wheel. It was always a pain because I often click the scroll wheel to open new tabs when browsing internet. It would scroll the webpage and then I would not click on the link I was targetting.

I've got something else to show. Two months ago I bought a Supermicro CSE-M35T-1B Black 5 bay Hot-Swapable SATA HDD Enclosure. That thing takes three 5-1/4 trays, it holds five HDDs, it has a cooling fan and the HDDs are easy to take out if they have a problem. I got that because I wanted to put more HDDs in less space and I wanted some cooling for them. I replaced the fan with a fan that pushes less air but that is much quieter. The computer is in my bedroom and it was too noisy with the original fan. I'm happy with the product. The only problem was that it's made to fit in a computer without metal holding slots for every 5-1/4 trays. I had to bend them out of the way to get the enclosure in.

I had one of the original T Balancers back in 2004. Hopefully the software isn't so bad now.

I've been looking for a good big tech station for months now. Using phase change in a case is way too hard to do easily. Every other one I've seen out there only has 1 shelf to keep your drives, PSU, etc. This way I still have room for a radiator. Although it is a shame no one sells it in Canada.

Not really my own stuff but I got a bunch of stuff so I can upgrade my Dad's old crappy Acer desktop. I think its an Athlon X2 Orleans running on Vista Basic (barely runs, its one of those desktops that shouldn't have been Vista certified at all).

    i3 530 ($20 off regular price)

There are zero overclocking options in that motherboard but its ok, 2.93Ghz is more than enough for him anyway.

looked at how much my cable provider was gouging me for my highspeed cable modem and decided to get my own. Should be here in a few days!

I'm not really a huge fan of cisco products as I have never had good luck with them at work and at home but I didn't want to purchase another Motorola Cable modem as I've seen too many of those go up in flames. Not to mention that I was going for a device that was cheap enough that it would pay for itself quickly.

I'm about to purchase this very same one for my HTPC. Are you pleased with yours? Judging by your comment I will have to almost certainly replace the fan but that is ok :D

Very cool, Crow! That processor is extremely powerful for the price point and since most games don't really take advantage of multiple cores the way we hope they would it should perform very well for your father. It has for me. If you pick up some 1600mhz DDR3 and enable the XMP profile you will get a nice little overclock that should stay stable with stock voltage even though there are no overclocking options available in the BIOS.

    Ok, my turn!

Many of you may know how I hate Thermaltake so hard because of the clearance issues in their poorly thought out V3 case. I placed a $1,500 order for a customer and since there was free shipping I figured I'd add on a little something for me.

Enter the Antec Three Hundred v2!

I had no idea there even was a v2 released. They had done so with their Two Hundred case so this was a nice surprise. There is a large cut out for the heatsink back plate (one of these days I'm going to rotate it 90 degrees to exhaust out the back), a spot on the bottom of the case to mount a 2.5 drive and best of all, NO CLEARANCE ISSUES! I was even surprised how clean I could keep the cabling without really trying. From here on out it is Antec or NZXT all the way.

This is the case I should have gone for in the beginning.

Sorry about the state of the room. Dust bunnies are out of control since I haven't had time to do some much needed cleaning.

    So...anybody want to buy a Thermaltake V3?

Where are the cables, dude?! That's one huge CPU cooling setup, it's half the size of the motherboard (and probably several times it's weight)!

Nice! It looks much neater now Optix. Good thing you didn't use your stickers on the old Thermaltake v3. hehe. Antec cases have very good build qualities.

InWin Griffin case finally arrived, this thing is surprisingly light. Probably the lightest mid tower case I have ever handled:

I had to RMA the DDR3 kit I'm going to use on this thing so I popped in my own patriot ram for the photo-op. Also I didn't realize that I have no IDE connectors for the DVD until I put everything together!!! lol ah who needs an optical drive anyway, W7 install through USB! I'll do some cable management later when I buy a sata DVD drive.

Kinda annoying that this little thing boots 3x faster than my i7 950. lol stupid X58 takes forever to get to the BIOS screen.

The rig I just built used a standard power supply and while it did eventually look clean I will never, EVER use a power supply that isn't modular.

The CPU cooler is pointing up towards the top of the case since I was trying a top to bottom air flow system in the old V3 but since there were so many clearance issues including the fan at the bottom of the case, which was a mighty important part I had to abandon it.

Once of these days I'll find the time to remount the heatsink so you can see just what the setup should look like. At that time I'll bust out the Dremel so I can modify one of the SilenX fans to fit the bracket that needs to be used on the heatsink as well.

I'm very happy with the case.

Looks good, Crow. What's the name of InWin's latest mATX tower? I was looking at that but it was a bit out of my price range.

I think the mATX one is called Dragon Slayer, I don't know when its going to hit the stores yet, but I want one too! It looks pretty cool. I have to get an mATX x58 board though. Luckily the Rampage III Gene is about to comeout, the downside however is that I don't have the budget for it. lol.
