Finally semi-retiring my trusty 8 year old (good God  ) Google Nexus 5 White. Sluggish as hell (needs a serious refresh). Given that I'll be off work for another month I can't really afford to pay too much for a top-o-the-line phone. So.. for now.. a bit of a compromise:

    OnePlus Nord 10 5G

Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (my fav brand of cases)

Grand total was $450 CAN, plus I also got a free pair of OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z buds. Only real downside is that it's an FHD+ IPS 90Hz LCD screen, not AMOLED. But, given that I only use the phone for texting, calling, and as a backup MP3 player, this is more than enough for me.

I hope so. It's at least 2x faster and 1.5" bigger than my Nexus 5. Just got the notice that it shipped, so I should get it by Monday. Already got the case off Amazon.

Oh snap... I need to get a nano sim...

Shouldn't your carrier send you a sim with it that is a normal sim and then you can break the middle off into a nano sim?

OK...just a minute! Why have you been in and out of the hospital so much? If it's not too personal, that is.

Found the missing knobs on ebay...

    knobs.jpg

I needed 3 actual 70's vintage knobs, only one came with the guitar (Guitar had one vintage knob and one "new-ish" knob when I got it.) Note the yellowing... That's nicotine staining and aging plastic. You can't fake that look, it's not on the surface, it's in the plastic.

The "pointer knob" will be going on my 1974 Gibson bass... Which I just repaired.

    Yeah I have a '74 Gibson guitar and a '74 Gibson bass...

You can't even go online without some guy sending you a pic of his knob anymore.

I had a heart attack back in mid August 2020. And apparently a minor stroke since then, but they don't know when exactly (as early as the end of January 2021 which was the last time I was in emerg, or possibly at the time of my heart attack.. not sure as I had the MRI more than 2 weeks after emerg visit). Plus a couple other things have kept me from returning to work (I had a setback with some Cheeze Whiz and a turkey baster, but I'm feeling much better now ;)). Looking to get back within the next 4-5 weeks.

    I am so sorry. :(

My dad had a heart attack and flat lined 8 times a few months ago, he almost died. It took such a toll on him that my mother is saying his even his character has slightly changed. I am grateful that you survived, please take care @Tipstaff.

So sorry to see one of the long time HH members having some issues.

I have not really been here that much recently for various reasons. So i missed this until now.

All the Very Best for the future and you get back to a good level of health. :)

@Tipstaff, you should get Outriders and we should play, it seems like what Anthem was supposed to be, but fell short, fun game. I'm already playing with two other friends. :)
